The promising colt Equerry (Snitzel) topped the colt when selling to Mr T WK Leung for $340,000.

Gavin Bedggood picked up the talented Silent Shares (Overshare), a mare he has trained to three wins for $140,000.

A range of small shares in promising gallopers sold for strong money, which valued these horses at up to $520,000.

In total the November (Early) Sale grossed $2,290,800.

Silent Shares and Equerry take the number of $100,000+ lots sold on Inglis Digital in 2025 to 118, while Equerry became the 38th lot to sell for $200,000 or more on the platform this year.

Equerry tops the sale at $340,000

It is not often a regally bred Randwick winner is offered for sale the day after scoring in town, but that was the case with the Chris Waller-trained Equerry (Snitzel), who was sold by a Coolmore-led ownership group for $340,000 on Inglis Online on Wednesday.

Purchased by T WK Leung, Equerry will continue his career in Hong Kong, with his buyer delighted to secure a colt of his profile.

“He looks a very promising young horse that we think will fit in well up in Hong Kong,’’ Mr Leung said. “We will sit down in coming days to work out a trainer and a program for him but I think he is a very exciting horse.’’

Coolmore’s John Kennedy was equally thrilled with the outcome.

“That’s a phenomenal result, Inglis Digital has done it again. Equerry won very impressively yesterday and looks to have a bright future and I wish Mr Leung all the best with him.

“With the Melbourne Cup winner Half Yours selling on Inglis Digital last year, I hope Equerry can be hugely successful for his new owners up in Hong Kong as well.’’

From just four starts, Equerry has already posted two wins - at Kembla Grange and Randwick, and placed at Canterbury behind the talented Snitzel Dancer (Snitzel). With that base and clear progression still ahead of him, he appeals as a colt with considerable upside.

Equerry is the fourteenth foal out of the outstanding producer Negotiate (Red Ransom {USA}), who has left 12 winners from 12 to race, including G1 Sangster Stakes winner Secret Agenda, the dam of G2 Roman Consul winner Hidden Motive.

It is also the family of talented performers Enthaar (Written Tycoon), Tutta La Vita (The Autumn Sun) - who realised $3.2 million at the 2024 Inglis Chairman’s Sale, and the Group 3-winning Jasmin Rouge (Dundeel {NZ}).

Silent Shares returns to Bedggood

Progressive mare Silent Shares (Overshare) is back in familiar hands, with trainer Gavin Bedggood securing her for $140,000. The lightly raced 4-year-old has won three of eight starts and just over $120,000, including consecutive metropolitan victories at Sandown in her most recent outings.

“The owner is reducing his racing stock, and I think this mare has good residual in her and is far from at her peak, so I was happy to keep her,’’ Bedggood said.

“She’s been back in the stables for five weeks, so she’ll race around Christmas time, and having trained her already up to this point, it’s a nice advantage to have when trying to buy these mares and race them on.

“There’s still shares available in her, so if anybody would like to get involved in a nice mare that’s won three from eight, just head to my website or give me a call.’’

Silent Shares is the first foal of Silent Roar (Street Cry {Ire}), a five-time winner up to 1600 metres, three of them at metropolitan level. Her granddam is the exceptional Zarita (NZ) (Pentire {GB}), a nine-time winner up to 2500 metres, including the G1 South Australian Derby and G1 Schweppes Oaks, as well as five Group 2 successes, with top-four finishes also in the WS Cox Plate and Australian Cup.

Strong demand for quality small share purchases

There was strong participation in smaller equity offerings, reinforcing the strength of Australia’s prizemoney model and the current appetite for racing ownership of quality, proven galllopers. Several part-ownership positions attracted competitive interest and healthy market valuations, particularly among progressive 3-year-olds and stakes-class performers in leading stables.

A 2.5% interest in Zocketman (King’s Legacy) realised $13,000, valuing the promising Freedman-trained colt at $520,000. Undefeated from two starts at Muswellbrook and Newcastle, he has shown early talent and upside.

A 2.5% share in Royal Mover (King’s Legacy) sold for $9500, placing a $380,000 valuation on the Tony Gollan-trained 3-year-old. Racing in the Australian Bloodstock colours, he has produced two wins and a placing from three starts, including metropolitan success at Eagle Farm and Sunshine Coast.

The proven stayer Statuario (D’Argento) also proved popular, with a 5% share bringing $20,000 and valuing him at $400,000. Trained by Emma-Lee and David Browne, he has already amassed close to $470,000 and finished runner-up in the G1 South Australian Derby.

Meanwhile, a 5% holding in Farnicle (Farnan) sold for $22,500, equating to a $450,000 valuation. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-prepared gelding was a juvenile winner, placed in the G2 Sires’ Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm, and most recently finished second in the lucrative $500,000 Tapp-Craig Stakes behind Ohope (I Am Invincible).

Inglis Digital graduate claims the Melbourne Cup

Inglis Digital secured a defining milestone when star graduate Half Yours (St Jean {Ire}) captured the $10 million G1 Melbourne Cup, just a year after being purchased online for $305,000 by Belmont Bloodstock and McEvoy Mitchell Racing.

The son of St Jean (Ire), offered as part of the Halo Racing Unreserved Reduction Sale following the passing of Colin McKenna, had raced only five times, for two wins when offered, with earnings just shy of $40,000.

Since then, he has risen to the absolute peak of the sport, winning six of his next 10 starts, including the G1 Caulfield Cup, G1 Melbourne Cup double, the G3 Naturalism Stakes and the Listed Caloundra Cup, banking $9.2 million for connections.

Nick Melmeth, Inglis Digital Business Manager, described it as a landmark achievement.

“I’m so pleased for all the owners of Half Yours, Tony and Calvin and Damon, what an unbelievable result for them and an unbelievable result for Inglis Digital. We’re eternally grateful to Janice McKenna for offering the Halo Racing draft on Inglis Digital last year after Colin’s sad passing and I’m sure Col was looking down at Flemington today and riding the race with Jamie.

“It’s a proud day for Inglis Digital. Our platform continues to go from strength to strength and the success of graduates on the track in recent times has been nothing short of extraordinary and to now have claim to a Melbourne Cup winner is amazing.’’
