There is a real buzz in Perth ahead of the Group 1 racing at Ascot as part of the Pinnacles Carnival. The action on the turf looks hot, with the G1 Railway Stakes this weekend, while a bumper crowd is expected as the city also hosts the first Ashes Test - making Perth the place to be. By a quirk of the calendar, the 2026 yearling sales season is two weeks shorter, with the Magic Millions Gold Coast beginning a week later than usual and the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale running a week earlier. The time crunch will affect trainers the most, as they can't be away from their stables for extended periods - although approaches vary - what is clear is the overarching theme of “getting it done.”
