The quality filly is the second foal out of Inspirational Girl (NZ) (Reliable Man {GB}) who was a 10-time winner, including at the elite Group 1 level once. She is one of a lovely group of Panthalassa (Jpn) foals that have been born throughout the 2025 spring, and going by the quality he has produced, he is a sire to keep an eye out for in years to come.
All class on the track
Inspirational Girl (NZ) (Reliable Man {GB}) was a 10-time winner from 1200 to 1600 metres, headlined by her victory in the G1 Railway Stakes. She also claimed the G2 Blamey Stakes at Flemington and the G3 Asian Beau Stakes, cementing herself as one of Western Australia’s finest modern-day mares.

The daughter of Reliable Man (GB) was purchased for $1.1 million by Chatsworth Farm at the 2023 Inglis Chairman’s Sale, offered through the Holbrook Thoroughbreds draft. Now early in her broodmare career, she has already made a strong start.
Her first foal, a colt by Alabama Express, arrived last year, and he will be offered at next year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale as Lot 383. Late in October she delivered a filly by Panthalassa (Jpn) that has quickly become a talking point.
Yulong Stud’s Stud Manager, Ben Gunn, said the Panthalassa filly ticks all the boxes.
“She is a really nice filly, a really good representation of the mare and the stallion. She has a nice bit of scope and athleticism, is well balanced and a nice mixture of her dam and sire.”

Panthalassa’s first foals make an impression
Dual Group 1 winner Panthalassa served 110 mares in his debut Australian season, and with his first crop now hitting the ground, Gunn says the Japanese star is leaving a clear mark.

“He sure is stamping them, he was a bold front runner on the track, and we really like his first foals.
“He really is leaving a quality type of foal. Panthalassa himself is probably what I would describe as an elegant, classy style of horse, which we hoped would refine some of these Australian mares, and from what we have seen so far, that is exactly what he has done.”
With strong support behind him, Panthalassa has been given every chance to make an early impact.
“He has served really good quality mares and numbers, and we are very happy with them. Mr Zhang believes in the stallion, and he has served some very good mares, including Pennyweka, Mississippi Burning, Winning Ways, Miss Fabulass and Gan Teorainn, so he is getting every chance.”

While a decision on her 2025 mating is still pending, Gunn says the team is pleased with Inspirational Girl's early produce.
Surprising and impressing breeders
Panthalassa has been one of the unexpected finds of this year’s and last year's Victorian stallion parades, converting curiosity into bookings as breeders have seen him up close.
“Mr Zhang and Yulong believe in the stallion and love an outcross option. I don’t think he was on the radar for many breeders, but on the back of seeing him at the parades and in viewings, he gained extra numbers.
“He has great refinement and quality and provides that point of difference from the usual Australian-bred type of stallion.”
With foals that are impressing, early confidence from breeders, and strong support, Panthalassa is shaping as one of the more intriguing young stallions to watch in the seasons ahead.
