Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

On Wednesday at Wyong, a promising Street Boss (USA) filly chases maiden success, while 2-year-old colts by Russian Revolution and Extreme Choice go head-to-head in the R. Listed Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic.

Daphnes, 3-year-old filly (Street Boss (USA) x Athiri {Lonhro})

Randwick Kensington’s Friday meeting will be the venue for the Godolphin owned and Michael Freedman-trained filly Daphnes (Street Boss {USA}), to chase her maiden success.

She has placed twice from her previous four starts, and resumed with a close-up sixth behind Namaste (NZ) (Savabeel) in the middle of last month at Canterbury.

Daphnes is out of the dual Listed winner Athiri (Lonhro), who is half sister to Godolphin’s brilliant race mare Savatiano (Street Cry {Ire}), who won 12 races including five at Group 2 level and was three times Group 1 placed.

Athiri is also a full sister to the stakes placed Rakomelo (Lonhro), and a half-sister to G2 Moreton Cup winner Vilana (Hallowed Crown), who won eight races, as well as the stakes placed Aleppo Pine (Blue Point {Ire}).

Athiri’s dam, Retsina (Redoute’s Choice) is a winning daughter of Group 1 winner Star Shiraz (Sequalo), and Athiri this spring produced a filly by the in-form Street Boss (USA).

Seeiaye, 2-year-old colt (Russian Revolution x Blue Blazers {I Am Invincible})

The promising Seeiaye (Russian Revolution) makes his second start at Wyong in the R. Listed Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic on Wednesday, on the back of a very nice win on debut at Newcastle by just under two lengths in the middle of November.

He is the second foal out of Blue Blazers (I Am Invincible), who was unraced, but is a full sister to Super One, Singapore’s Champion 2-year-old colt who later claimed Group 3 honours in Australia before retiring to stud.

Another notable half sibling is the sharp speedster Super Too (Hinchinbrook), a five-time winner up to 1000 metres and placed three times at Group level.

Blue Blazers has since produced a yearling filly by Artorius and foaled a Farnan filly last month.

Seeiaye was initially purchased by Musk Creek Farm for $27,500 from the Fairhill Farm draft at the 2024 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale, before being secured by Capri Racing & Syndication and Peter Snowden for $65,000 when re-offered by Musk Creek Farm at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Paradoxium, 2-year-old colt (Extreme Chocie x Paredo {Better Tahn Ready})

The Bjorn Baker-trained Extreme Choice colt Paradoxium lines up for his second start in the R. Listed Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic on Wednesday. He ran a solid fourth on debut in the G3 Breeders’ Plate behind Incognito (Stay Inside) back at the start of October.

After having a short break, he has won twice at the trials and looks sharp and ready for his resuming run.

Paradoxium is the first foal from the Listed-placed Paredo (Better Than Ready), a half-sister to stakes performer Snipzu (Snippetson), dam of Don Corleone, and Happy Pilgrim (Congrats {USA}), dam of G1 Galaxy Handicap winner Private Harry (Harry Angel {Ire}). She has also left a Zoustar yearling filly, and she delivered a filly by I Am Invincible this spring.

Bjorn Baker Racing, Clarke Bloodstock (FBAA), and Ridgmont secured Paradoxium for $400,000 from Silverdale Farm’s Magic Millions draft. Silverdale Farm had paid $475,000 for dam Paredo (Better Than Ready) with the colt in utero at the 2023 Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

Looking Back

Kingsford (NZ) (Almanzor {Fr}) and Big Sister Ava (Puissance De Lune {Ire}) were both scheduled to rain at Hamilton, but unfortunately the meeting was abandonded due to a burst water pipe at the 300 metre mark.
