A share in the sprinting sensation Overpass sells well
A 5% share in Overpass (Vancouver) has sold for $40,000 to Blue Arrow Equine, valuing the 7-year-old at $800,000. The buyer, an existing shareholder in the talented sprinter has increased their share-holding only days before Overpass lines up in the $1.5 million G3 The Gold Rush over 1400 metres at Ascot this Saturday - with the chance of an almost instant return on investment.
Overpass has been a star on the track, winning 10 races and earning just over $12.3 million. Now a 7-year-old, he is racing as well as ever. This spring he ran fourth behind Champion Ka Ying Rising (NZ) (Shamexpress {NZ}) in the $20 million G1 The Everest, before finishing second in the G1 Winterbottom Stakes at his most recent start when narrowly beaten by Libertad (Russian Revolution).
"Our owners who were selling these shares are ecstatic with the results," Darby Racing's Scott Darby noted.
"Both were happy to trade out but only if the price was right and Magic Millions delivered on that," he added.

Originally purchased by Darby Racing and Will Johnson Bloodstock for $75,000 from the Corumbene Stud draft at the 2020 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale Round 2. Overpass is one of five winners out of the two-time winning Exceed And Excel mare Walkway.
His grandam, Boardwalk Bell (Bellotto {USA}), is a placed half-sister to Champion Northerly (Serheed {USA}) - the 2002/03 Australian Horse of the Year - who won 19 races including the G1 Caulfield Cup, G1 Cox Plate, G1 Australian Cup (twice), G1 Yalumba Stakes, G1 Underwood Stakes (twice) and the G1 Railway Stakes.
Yulong strengthen their position in Within The Law with another share
During the Magic Millions Digital Sale (21–26 November), two shares in Within The Law (Lucky Vega {Ire}) topped the sale. A 6.5% share was secured by Yulong under the Highway Farm banner for $85,000, while a 5% share sold to the same buyer for $80,000 - valuing the filly at just over $1.4 million.
Two further shares - one of 5% and one of 2.5% - were then offered in the sale finsihing Wednesday, giving buyers another chance to invest in a well-performed 3-year-old boasting strong racetrack credentials, broodmare value, and further upside.
The 5% share was again purchased by Yulong under their Highway Farm banner for $70,000, while the 2.5% share was passed in short of its $40,000 reserve. The latest purchase again valued the filly at $1.4 million. Yulong now hold 16.5% of the star filly by their exciting young sire Lucky Vega (Ire).
Lucky Vega (Ire) | Standing at Yulong Stud
Within The Law was bred by Yulong and sold to Darby Racing for $30,000 at the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. On the track she was a precocious and high-class juvenile, winning the R. Listed Inglis 2YO at Flemington on debut, then the R. Listed Nursery at Randwick, and the G2 Sweet Embrace Stakes. She also placed in the R. Listed Millennium, G1 Champagne Stakes and the G3 Percy Sykes Stakes.
Her 3-year-old season has included its share of bad luck - notably wide barriers - yet she still placed in both the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes and the G1 Flight Stakes. She is currently spelling at Wild Oaks ahead of an Autumn Carnival campaign and profiles as an ideal Golden Eagle contender next spring.
Her pedigree is a significant asset. She is the first foal from the placed Dundeel (NZ) mare Contract Signed, who has since produced a 2-year-old colt by Tagaloa and foaled a Lucky Vega colt last month.

Her grandam So Much Joy (Red Ransom {USA}) is a half-sister to Champion UAE sprinter and G1 winner Sterling City (Nadeem) and to G2 Tulloch Stakes and Listed Adelaide Guineas winner Tipungwuti (More Than Ready {USA}). The family also includes G1 winner Kementari (Lonhro) and stakes winners Telperion, Silmarillion (Too Darn Hot {GB}), Prix De Turn (NZ) (Turn Me Loose {NZ}) and Express Pass (Wandjina).
A 2% share in Blitzburg sells well
A 2% share in Blitzburg (Snitzel) was highly sought after, selling for $25,000 to FMR Racing and valuing the promising colt at $1.25 million.
The strong interest was no surprise. From the moment Blitzburg won on debut at Newcastle for Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, he looked a colt of real promise. He went on to place at Eagle Farm as a 2-year-old and then won the G3 Canonbury Stakes at Rosehill, defeating Hillier (Zoustar).
He has only had one run this season - finishing fifth in the Listed Rosebud Stakes - and has since moved to Michael Freedman’s Gold Coast stable, with connections targeting a Magic Millions Gold Coast campaign.

By champion sire Snitzel, Blitzburg is a blue-chip colt with a deep commercial pedigree. His dam Sierra (Jpn) (Orfevre {Jpn}) was placed in Japan as a juvenile and is a half-sister to two Japanese stakes winners. His grandam Golden Doc A (USA) (Unusual Heat {USA}) won the G1 Santa Anita Las Virgenes Stakes, and is a full sister to G1 Hollywood Turf Cup winner and stallion Unusual Suspect (USA).
Blitzburg is on track for the $3 million Magic Millions Sunlight, run under lights on 10 January. He trialled impressively on 2 December and will trial again in a fortnight. Following the Magic Millions, he will be purposefully aimed at the premier 3-year-old sprint features of the Sydney autumn.
A share in the full brother to Switzerland in demand
A 2.5% share in Decorum (Snitzel) sold for $30,000 to Scott McQueen, valuing the colt at $1.2 million.
The result came as no surprise given he is the full brother to Switzerland and has shown early talent. Decorum ran second on debut at Warwick Farm behind subsequent G1 winner Attica (Lonhro) in what has become an elite-form maiden, before winning his Newcastle maiden over 1400 metres in stylish fashion when defeating California Command (Deep Field).
Decorum’s dam Ms Bad Behaviour (Can) (Blame {USA}) was purchased for US$600,000 (AU$969,000) from the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November Sale by Freyer Bloodstock and imported to Australia.

Her first foal, a Snitzel colt - sold for $1.5 million to T. Magnier at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. That colt became Switzerland, who delivered a career-defining performance when winning the 2024 G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes in scintillating fashion. He also claimed the G2 Todman Stakes as a juvenile and the G2 Roman Consul Stakes, and is just completing serving his first book at Coolmore Stud.
Decorum himself was purchased for $550,000, while the current 2-year-old from the mare was bought by Tom Magnier for $2.7 million at this year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. The mare also has a Snitzel yearling colt and foaled another Snitzel colt in October.
West Australian mare Ghobella sells for $70,000
Ghobella (Blackfriars), a tough and durable West Australian mare, has sold for $70,000 to Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA). A six-time winner, she was stakes-placed in the Listed Pinjarra Cup and earned just under $350,000 on the track. She was offered in foal for the first time to the strong-performing West Australian sire Maschino.
A daughter of the late Blackfriars - one of Western Australia’s most influential stallions, she is a half-sister to Nerodio (Playing God), an 11-time winner including three Listed races.

Ghobella's vendor was pleased with the sale results achieved on Magic Millions Digital.
"I would like to thank Magic Millions for the great result they achieved with my mare Ghobella," Livio Divitini said.
"The team were very easy to deal with and I'd highly recommend them to any future sellers," Divitini added.
Ghobella’s dam Black Carat (Lonhro) was a three-time winner and a half-sister to Listed Tattersall’s Cup winner Doyoudare (Langfuhr {Can}), as well as Listed-placed Just Marika (Grandera {Ire}) and Jetoomy (Reset). The pedigree also features Listed Grandstand Cup winner Playing Marika (Playing God).
