A share in the classy Coleman sells well
A 5% share in the well-performed Pierata colt Coleman as Lot 130 - was sold for $32,500 to Galdand Pty Ltd as part of the Trilogy Racing Dispersal, valuing the colt at $650,000.
Coleman has already compiled a Group-class record that firmly places him in the stallion conversation. He won twice as a 2-year-old, including the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes and the Listed Debutant Stakes, and went on to finish second in the Group 1 Golden Slipper, and third in the Group 1 Sires’ Produce Stakes. He has also finished second in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes, third in the Group 3 Pago Pago Stakes and third in the Listed Century Stakes.

His earnings now exceed $1.3 million, with his performances coming against the elite of his generation and consistently measuring up at the highest level across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Currently spelling, Coleman is now in the care of Cranbourne trainer Clinton McDonald. As a 4-year-old, there appears to be plenty of racing upside remaining, highlighted by his Flemington Spring Carnival performance where he was beaten just under a length and a half by Stokke (Rich Enuff) when running fourth at Listed level.
Trilogy Racing sells some handy types
Trilogy Racing offered a dispersal of 23 lots during the 2025 December Late Online Sale, providing buyers with plenty of quality options.
Among the standout results was Lot 2, King Of Dragons (Harry Angel {Ire}), a lightly raced metropolitan-winning gelding, who sold for $120,000 to Suman Hedge Bloodstock. Also attracting interest was Lot 1, Iron Hawk (Written Tycoon), a lightly raced, metro-winning 4-year-old gelding by Champion Sire Written Tycoon. An Inglis Classic Yearling graduate who originally cost $220,000, Iron Hawk was secured for $70,000 by Barry Purdon.
“There was a really good level of pre-sale engagement in the draft, we even got introduced to some new trainers as well which is great,’’ Trilogy Racing's Jason Stenning said.
“The bidding was consistently strong today, especially for this time of year when the breeding season is over so it was good to see the confidence still around in the market for all aspects of the draft.’’

A chance taken on Port Lockroy
It is rare for shares in a Group 1-winning colt to become available, but that opportunity arose with Lot 165, as N Lillie secured a 5% share in the Annabel and Rob Neasham-trained Port Lockroy (Better Than Ready) for $16,000, valuing the colt at $320,000.
Port Lockroy is a Group 1-winning 5-year-old entire by Better Than Ready out of the dual Listed placed Freeze mare Freezethemillions, having earned an impressive $1,269,000 in prize money from 24 starts. He has been a sound horse throughout his career and has been easy to manage.

He is a full brother to Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes winner and sire Alpine Edge. The second dam is a full sister to Group 3 Champagne Classic winner Golden Fox (Foxhound {USA}), adding further depth to a strong pedigree.
Most recently, Port Lockroy finished a solid enough seventh, three lengths from the winner, in the Listed Tails Stakes at Eagle Farm last weekend. There is also the possibility he may be gelded, a move that could prolong and potentially enhance his future racing career.
A 2.5% share in Within The Law is valued at $1.6 million
In recent Inglis Online Sales, Yulong have been able to acquire 16.5% of shares in the star filly Within The Law (Lucky Vega {Ire}), in this edition of the sale, Will Stroud was able to pick up a 2.5% share for $40,000, valuing the filly at $1.6 million, interestingly a slightly higher figure than within the last two Inglis Sales.
The Darby Racing-offered share is Stroud’s fifth purchase into Australian racing.
“Outside of the US, Australia offers some of the world’s highest prizemoney and most lucrative racing opportunities, making it an attractive market for racing investors like myself,’’ Stroud said.
“I’m only interested in the absolute top-tier bloodstock and I focus mainly on the fillies and mares and I’m committed to competing at the highest level globally.
“I see this as a strategic move to secure the best talent available in a minority stake but in a proven performing filly and future broodmare with an impressive pedigree.’’
Within The Law was bred by Yulong and sold to Darby Racing for $30,000 at the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. On the track she was a precocious and high-class juvenile, winning the R. Listed Inglis 2YO at Flemington on debut, then the R. Listed Nursery at Randwick, and the G2 Sweet Embrace Stakes. She also placed in the R. Listed Millennium, G1 Champagne Stakes and the G3 Percy Sykes Stakes.

Her 3-year-old season has included its share of bad luck - notably wide barriers - yet she still placed in both the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes and the G1 Flight Stakes. She is currently spelling at Wild Oaks ahead of an Autumn Carnival campaign and profiles as an ideal Golden Eagle contender next spring.
Her pedigree is a significant asset. She is the first foal from the placed Dundeel (NZ) mare Contract Signed, who has since produced a 2-year-old colt by Tagaloa and foaled a Lucky Vega (Ire) colt last month.
Her grandam So Much Joy (Red Ransom {USA}) is a half-sister to Champion UAE sprinter and G1 winner Sterling City (Nadeem) and to G2 Tulloch Stakes and Listed Adelaide Guineas winner Tipungwuti (More Than Ready {USA}). The family also includes G1 winner Kementari (Lonhro) and stakes winners Telperion, Silmarillion (Too Darn Hot {GB}), Prix De Turn (NZ) (Turn Me Loose {NZ}) and Express Pass (Wandjina).
Cambridge Stud secure Deadly Desire
Cambridge Stud took a strong liking to Lot 118, Deadly Desire (NZ), a 4-year-old mare offered by Go Bloodstock, and by Waikato Stud's exciting young sire Super Seth.
Deadly Desire is a winning half-sister to the unbeaten stakes-winning 2-year-old Torture (NZ) (Sword Of State) and to Group 1 winner Ruthless Dame (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}). Torture made an immediate impression on debut, defeating the subsequent Group-winning 2-year-old Toronado Valley (Too Darn Hot {GB}), and she currently sits number one on the order of entry for the R. Listed Karaka Millions 2YO Classic.

Her half-sister Ruthless Dame captured the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes before being purchased as a broodmare for $2 million by Katsumi Yoshida. A further two sisters have since retired to the breeding barn, while her Proisir yearling half-sister is rated among the standout lots in Book 1 of the 2026 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale. Their dam, Ruthless Lady (NZ) (Keeper), is currently back in foal to Satono Aladdin (Jpn).
“We’re thrilled with the sale price and it just goes to show you can achieve these results any time of year with Inglis Digital,’’ Go Bloodstock’s Steve O’Connor said.
“She’s a quality filly from one of the top families in New Zealand, an active family that’s really going places, so we wish Cambridge all the best of luck with her.’’
With Torture looking so promising and potentially targeting the NZ$1 million R. Listed Karaka Millions 2YO, there is considerable scope for further pedigree updates. Adding further appeal, Torture is by Cambridge Stud’s Sword Of State, a stallion who could present a natural future mating option for this well-bred mare.
Invincible Woman offers dual appeal on track and at stud
Killora Stud secured Lot 137 - a 6.25% share in Invincible Woman (I Am Invincible) for $17,000, valuing the filly at approximately $272,000.
She is a lightly-tried 3-year-old filly with plenty of upside, still possessing racing potential while also shaping as a valuable broodmare prospect in the years ahead. Following minor throat surgery, she endured an unlucky Spring Carnival preparation, flashing home for an eye-catching third first-up at Moonee Valley before another luckless run in the Group 3 Red Roses at Flemington behind Point Barrow (Blue Point {Ire}).

Merry Angelore secured for $140,00
Lot 254, Merry Angelore (Smart Missile), an 8-year-old mare offered in foal to Arrowfield Stud's Castelvecchio, was purchased by Andy Grant of APG Invest for $140,000.
Merry Angelore is a full sister to the recent Listed Doveton Stakes winner at Caulfield, Aviatress (Smart Missile). Aviatress has now won seven of her 19 starts for more than $540,000 in prizemoney, with her past 10 runs all at Listed or Group level, including three victories.

She is potentially being aimed at races such as the Group 1 Sangster Stakes and Group 1 Goodwood in the autumn. Merry Angelore is also a full sister to Group 3–placed Green ’N’ White (Smart Missile), who has won six of his 15 starts in Hong Kong, earned over HK$8,573,600 in prizemoney and achieved a Group 3 placing.
Merry Angelore will be transported to Widden Stud in New South Wales before Grant decides his next move.
“I’ve owned horses for years and have got quite a few around the place with the likes of First Light and Roll The Dice and some of my own with Trent (Busuttin) and Natalie (Young) and Mick Price etc, and I’ve been playing in the breeding field for maybe two or three years only,” Grant said.
“I was talking to Will Stott about upgrading the mares so we found this girl and Will thought she would be a good addition so we’ve bought her and will see what happens.’’
Northmore’s Tammy Notman added: “We’re very pleased, we were thinking of taking her to Chairman’s but seeing Aviatress have that recent Stakes win a couple of weeks ago we thought, why not go with Inglis Digital while the timing was on our side.
“It’s so easy with Inglis Digital, as long as your videos and photos are good, that’s the key, we had calls about the mare in the lead up and she sold really well.’’
