North England winds up for summer assault
Juvenile Group winner North England (Farnan) was only seen once this spring in the G2 Run To The Rose, but he looks to have returned to the sizzling form he produced as a 2-year-old when winning a Rosehill Gardens trial on Tuesday morning. The Tulloch Lodge-trained 3-year-old put on a strong performance to fend off a fast-finishing Semillion (Shalaa {Ire}) to win his heat by almost half a length, with a near three-length gap to G2 Silver Shadow Stakes winner Savvy Hallie (Hellbent) in third.

China Horse Club, Newgate Bloodstock, Go Bloodstock, and Trilogy purchased the son of Farnan for $280,000 from Valiant Stud’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale draft, and he has since amassed over $830,000 in prizemoney. His dam Our Belisa (Lope De Vega {Ire}) delivered a Stay Inside colt this spring, her first foal since North England, and visited Stay Inside again in October.
Flashy trial for O’Ole en route back to Gold Coast
Last season’s R. Listed Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YO Classic victress O’Ole (Ole Kirk) had a nice tickover trial on Tuesday morning at Rosehill, as the 3-year-old filly plots a path back to the Gold Coast next month. Biding her time behind early leader Botanist (Wootton Bassett {GB}), the Bjorn Baker-trained filly waited until straightening to power away, clinching a one and three-quarter-length victory over Akaysha (Capitalist).

The winner of over $1.9 million in prizemoney was a $325,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase from Gilgai Farm for her trainer and Clarke Bloodstock (FBAA), and it is expected she will either line up in the $3 million Magic Millions Sunlight slot race or in the R. Listed Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
Mckeever Bloodstock and Watership Down Stud bought the full sister to O’ Ole at this year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $650,000 - the filly has subsequently been named Chanterelle and sent to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. Her dam Vellor (Sepoy), a daughter of multiple Group winner Hosannah (Octagonal {NZ}), delivered a full brother this spring before visiting Extreme Choice.
Excelluna excels in second trial
The Richard and Will Freedman-trained filly Excelluna (Exceed And Excel) was impressive when clinching victory in her second career trial at Rosehill Gardens on Tuesday morning. The juvenile ran third to subsequent Saturday winner Warwoven (Sword Of State) in her debut trial and put the pressure on her rivals early in Tuesday’s heat, leading into the home straight where she comfortably extended her margin to a length and two thirds over Sky Deck (Written Tycoon).

Amongst the first acceptances for both the G1 Golden Slipper Stakes and the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes, the filly was a NZ$500,000 purchase for her trainers at the New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale, where she was offered by Trelawney Stud.
She is the fourth foal out of Listed-placed winner Addison (NZ) (Jimmy Choux {NZ}), a half-sister to Yulong sire Grunt (NZ) and G2 Matriarch Stakes winner Zayydani (NZ) (Savabeel). The immediate family also includes Ocean Park (NZ) and dual Group 2 winner Shanwah (Too Darn Hot {GB}), who headed to Hong Kong in August.
Addison’s So You Think (NZ) filly will be offered by Trelawney Stud at Karaka next month as Lot 250, and the mare visited Paddington (GB) this spring.
Miss Chanel and Chuchichaschtli sharpen up
Tulloch Lodge trainee Miss Chanel (Tagaloa) lived up to her dam’s name - Talented (Snitzel) - when taking out the second juvenile heat at Rosehill Gardens on Tuesday morning. In her debut trial, the filly had run third to Norman’s Cay (Too Darn Hot {GB}), who ran second to Warwoven on Saturday, and she stepped up to the plate at her second attempt with a frontrunning performance that landed a near two-length margin at the line.
Eagle eyes will also select runner-up Chuchichaschtli (Exceedance), trained by the Hawkes Racing team, as one to follow, closing fiercely to catch up with the winner swiftly after the line. $2.6 million Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale graduate Sumeria (Zoustar) was fourth in her debut trial.

Bred and sold by Yulong, Miss Chanel was a $270,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase for her trainers, out of multiple stakes-performed Talented, herself a daughter of Listed VRC St Leger winner Exceptionally (Ekraar {USA}). She is amongst the first acceptances for both juvenile features.
Talented has had two to the races for two city winners, including G3 Gold Coast Guineas fourth Editing (Written Tycoon). She delivered a Zoustar filly this spring before patronising More Than Looks (USA).
Thyme To Go runs good time in huge victory
I Am Invincible filly Thyme To Go posted the fastest time of the juvenile heats on Tuesday morning at Rosehill Gardens, posting a last 600 metres of 34.06s when winning by half of a length. Trained by Annabel and Rob Archibald, the filly hit the front early and put a gap on her rivals when rounding the home turn, with only the smart looking Knightsbridge (Farnan) closing the margin in the final furlong. Divine Heights (St Mark’s Basilica {Fr}) led the rest of the pack home, nine lengths behind the winner.

The Archibalds and William Johnson Bloodstock (FBAA) outlaid $260,000 for Thyme To Go at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, where she was offered by Yarraman Park Stud, and she features in the first round of acceptances for the Slipper and the Blue Diamond.
Her dam Joy At Last (More Than Ready {USA}) is an unraced half-sister to G2 Autumn Classic winner Castlereagh Kid (Snitzel) and dual Group 1 runner-up Aberfeldie Boy (So You Think {NZ}), as well as a full sister to G1 Vinery Stud Stakes third Happy Hannah. Her dam Absolute Joy (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) is a half-sister to the Group 1 stars Tuesday Joy (NZ) (Carnegie {Ire}) and Sunday Joy (Sunday Silence {USA}). Joy At Last delivered a full brother to Thyme To Go this spring, before visiting Capitalist.
Wendell impressive in debut trial win
Tulloch Lodge unearthed another smart colt in the fourth juvenile heat at Rosehill Gardens on Tuesday morning, sending out Wendell (Written Tycoon) to victory on debut. The colt, whose ownership includes Throsby Racing and Yu Long Investments, travelled comfortably into the home straight before being launched by Regan Bayliss to secure victory by just shy of three lengths over Godolphin-owned Hozumi (Street Boss {USA}).

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott teamed up with Kestrel Thoroughbreds and Brad Mccarthy Bloodstock to secure the colt from Yulong Stud’s Gold Coast draft for $450,000. He is the second foal from A Little Jewel (Ire) (No Nay Never {USA}), an unraced half-sister to European Champion 3YO Stayer and sire Rule Of Law (USA) and to the granddam of G1 Grand Prix de Paris winner Feed The Flame (GB) (Kingman {GB}).
A Little Jewel produced a third foal by Written Tycoon this season, before visiting More Than Looks in October.
Profiteer filly goes like a rocket
Profitabelle (Profiteer) demonstrated her sire’s signature speed when sent out for her debut trial at Rosehill Gardens on Tuesday morning. The Bjorn Baker-trained juvenile settled near the rear of the field and had to make her run out wide once straightening, scorching the turf on the way past her rivals to secure victory by a third of a length over Caloocan Beauty (USA) (Justify {USA}), with Rye Manhattan (The Autumn Sun) four lengths away in third.

Oliver Koolman picked up the filly from Riversdale Farm’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale draft for $100,000, after she passed at the Gold Coast. Riversdale purchased her for $36,000 at the previous year’s Inglis Australian Weanling Sale from Sledmere Stud.
Profitabelle is a half-sister to four winners out of Mrs Vanderbilt (Host {Chi}), a daughter of multiple Listed-placed Brillanti (NZ) (Slavic {USA}) from the immediate family of Listed Matamata Slipper Stakes winner Savabill (NZ) (Savabeel). She is the last foal from the mare.
