Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Two promising 3-year-old fillies by Extreme Choice and Snitzel go head-to-head at Gosford on Friday.

Extraglow, 3-year-old filly (Extreme Choice x Skylight Glow {Northern Meteor})
The Bjorn Baker-trained Extraglow (Extreme Choice) makes her debut at Gosford on Friday over 1100 metres, she has looked smart at the trials, winning her last two at Warwick Farm and Rosehill in December.
Extraglow is out of the two-time Northern Meteor winning mare Skylight Glow, who also placed in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes, G3 Ming Dynasty Handicap and the G1 Flight Stakes. She has done a tidy job at stud, having left three winners.

Skylight Glow, since producing Extraglow, has left a 2-year-old colt by Extreme Choice named Sunstorm, and a yearling colt by Extreme Choice before she sadly died early in 2025.
Extraglow was purchased by Bjorn Baker Racing and Jim Clarke Bloodstock (FBAA) for $200,000 at the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Mediterra, 3-year-old filly (Snitzel x Traceablity {Charge Forward})
The well-bred Snitzel filly Mediterra is set to make her fifth start for trainer Ciaron Maher at Gosford on Friday. The well-bred filly has failed to flatter in her previous raceday performances, but they have been better runs than they appear on paper, she could have a rough chance to run in the money in this event.
Mediterra is the eighth-foal out of the Charge Forward mare Traceability, she was unraced but is well bred with plenty of Group 1 performers and stallions in her pedigree including Master Of Design, Danasinga, Suntagonal (Octagonal), Tracy’s Element (Last Tycoon {Ire}), Typhoon Tracy (Red Ransom {USA}), Cullen, Towkay, Kylikwong (Red Ransom) and Alligator Blood (All Too Hard).

Traceability has also had good success at stud leaving the South African Listed winner In Traces (Snitzel), and the Group 3 placed colt in Spring Loaded (Redoute’s Choice).
Traceability since producing Mediterra, has left a yearling colt by Maurice (Jpn) that Arrowfield are offering as Lot 919 next week at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, and was served last spring by Snitzel before sadly she died in September last year.
Mediterra was purchased for $500,000 by Cambridge Stud from the draft of Arrowfield Stud at the 2024 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
