Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Three exciting runners by I Am Invincible, Bivouac and Farnan are chasing maiden success across Australia on Saturday.

Rosehill Gardens, Race 1, 12.35pm AEDT, Bisley Workwear 2YO Handicap, $160,000, 1100m

Thyme To Go, 2-year-old filly (I Am Invincible x Joy At Last {More Than Ready {USA}})

The Annabel and Rob Archibald-trained Thyme To Go (I Am Invincible) looks a great chance to break through for maiden success at Rosehill on Saturday.

She was very good running second on debut behind the very talented Knightsbridge (Farnan) on January 3 over 1000 metres.

Thyme To Go is the third foal out of the unraced Joy At Last (More Than Ready {USA}). She has a very strong pedigree being a three-quarter-sister to the eight-time Group 1 winner More Than Joyous (More Than Ready {USA}), and a half-sister to the Group 2 winner Castlereagh Kid (Snitzel).

This is also the outstanding family of the Group 1 winners Tuesday Joy (NZ) (Carnegie {Ire}), Sunday Joy (Sunday Silence {USA}), and Joie Denise (Danehill {USA}).

Since producing Thyme To Go, Joy At last has left an I Am Invincible colt foal, and was served by Capitalist last spring.

Thyme To Go was purchased by Archibald & Neasham Racing and William Johnson Bloodstock (FBAA) for $260,000 from the Yarraman Park Stud draft at the 2025 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Flemington, Race 1, 12.20pm AEDT, TAB We’re On 2YO Handicap, $150,000, 1000m

Big Sky, 2-year-old colt (Bivouac x Zoom By {Red Dazzler})

The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Big Sky (Bivouac) makes his debut down the famous Flemington straight on Saturday. He comes into the race after looking good at the Cranbourne jump-outs, including winning his last one, when defeating Turbo Saint (Zousain).

Big Sky is the third live-foal out of the four-time winner Zoom By (Red Dazzler), a half-sister to the Listed winner Firenza (Kenny’s Best Pal).

This is also the extended family of the group winners Written Beauty (Written Tycoon), Immortal Love (Snitzel), Hi World (High Chaparral {Ire}), and Kiwia (Reset).

Zoom By, in recent years has produced a yearling filly by Spirit Of Boom, a colt foal by Spirit Of Boom, and she was served by Anamoe last spring.

Zoom By was purchased for $140,000 by Mick Price Racing & Breeding from the Eureka Stud draft at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Gosford, Race 1, 1.18pm AEDT, Eve Electrical Provincial 2&3YO Maiden Plate, $45,000, 1200m

You’re The Choice, 3-year-old filly (Farnan x She’s Our Choice {Duporth})

The Brad Widdup-trained You’re The Choice (Farnan) will be chasing maiden success at Gosford on Saturday. She has mixed her form throughout her career, but after a nice break and a couple of quiet trials, she looks ready to run well in a fresh state.

The promising filly is by Kia Ora Studs exciting son of Not A Single Doubt in Farnan, and is the fourth foal from the Duporth mare She’s Our Choice who was unraced on the track.

She is well-related though, being a half-sister to Newgate Stud Farm’s outstanding and in-form dual Group 1 sprint winning son of Not A Single Doubt in Extreme Choice. So You’re The Choice has been very cleverly bred cross-wise using a son of Not A Single Doubt, out of a mare that is a half-sister to a dual elite sprint winner by that sire.

Since producing You’re The Choice, She’s Our Choice has produced a 2-year-old colt by Zoustar named Medallion, a yearling filly by Farnan, a filly foal by Farnan, and she was served by Growing Empire last spring.

You're The Choice was purchased for $260,000 by Brad Widdup Racing from the Bell River Thoroughbreds draft at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
