Action returns to the Gold Coast in March with the annual Magic Millions March Yearling Sale, where a catalogue of 490 lots will be offered across March 12 and 13, 2026.
The sale features a strong incentives profile, including 268 QTIS fully paid or first-payment lots, 216 BOBS-eligible entries, 43 VOBIS Sires, and 12 VOBIS Silver lots, with all yearlings eligible for the Magic Millions Race Series.
Long regarded as one of Australasia’s strongest incentive-driven auctions, the March Sale continues to build on its reputation as a source of quality, value-focused racehorses. According to Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch, the aim has been to strengthen the sale’s appeal without losing its core identity.
“The sale keeps evolving, but the focus remains on providing buyers with opportunity and genuine value,” Bowditch said.

A notable change for 2026 is the introduction of non-QTIS yearlings into the catalogue for the first time. The adjustment is designed to add depth, variety, and appeal for local, interstate, and international buyers, while retaining the strong QTIS presence that has underpinned the sale historically.

The catalogue features stock by 94 individual stallions, reflecting the breadth of the offering. Incentives remain central to the sale’s appeal, with 268 QTIS fully paid or first-payment lots, 216 BOBS-eligible yearlings, 43 VOBIS Sires, and 12 VOBIS Silver lots. All entries are eligible for the Magic Millions Race Series, reinforcing the sale’s position as one of the most incentive-rich auctions on the calendar.
Locally based sires again feature prominently, led by Better Than Ready (56 lots) and Spirit of Boom (26 lots), both of whom have established consistent records of racetrack performance and commercial demand. Their strong representation is expected to attract interest from buyers seeking proven Queensland bloodlines.

The depth of the catalogue extends well beyond the local ranks, with yearlings by Alabama Express, All Too Hard, Artorius, Barbaric, Brave Smash (Jpn), Capitalist, Captivant, Cool Aza Beel (NZ), Diatonic (Jpn), Dracarys, Encryption, Exceedance, Hitotsu, Home Affairs, In the Congo, Jacquinot, Jonker, Kobayashi, Maurice (Jpn), North Pacific, Pierata, So You Think (NZ), Star Turn, Stay Inside, Sun City, Supido, Tagaloa, Tassort, The Autumn Sun, Tiger of Malay, Top Ranked (Ire), Wild Ruler, and Zousain also represented.
Recent graduates continue to highlight the sale’s ability to produce performers at the top end of the market.
“With recent graduates including the likes of millionaire performers Hidden Wealth and Encoder as well as this season’s crack juvenile Itchintogo, the sale keeps delivering for buyers,” Bowditch said.
“The usual quality line up of QTIS youngsters are back in 2026 alongside an impressive line up of yearlings from some leading interstate nurseries to make the auction a real must attend for buyers.”

Bowditch said the revised format and broader catalogue would help expand the sale’s reach.
“We are really excited with the quality line up heading to the sale. Many of the leading farms will be represented with the new format and this will help to market the sale to a broader audience.”
He also pointed to the continued strength of the incentive structure.
“The sires represented reads extremely strong and all yearlings are eligible for the $20 million plus annual Magic Millions Race Series,” Bowditch added.
