Ben Kwok secures extremely well-related Sliders
Prominent breeder and racehorse owner Ben Kwok has added a standout broodmare to his stable, purchasing Sliders (Street Boss {USA}) for $400,000, along with a quality I Am Invincible colt at foot.
Sliders, a metropolitan winner on debut as a juvenile over 900 metres, she was previously a $720,000 broodmare purchase from Godolphin in 2023. Out of the Group 3-placed juvenile Glissade (Redoute’s Choice), she carries a pedigree packed with proven talent.

She is a half-sister to G1 Thousand Guineas winner Flit (Medaglia d’Oro {USA}) and a three-quarter-sister to Group 3-placed Flow (Street Cry {USA}) and Speedway (Street Cry {USA}), the dam of the outstanding Broadsiding - a four-time Group 1 winner who claimed Champion 2YO in 2023/24 and Champion 3YO Colt in 2024/25.
Offered by Coolmore on behalf of a client, Sliders sold to a delighted Ben Kwok, who has dreams of a visit to Darley stallion Too Darn Hot (GB) with the mare.
“I’m hoping he returns to Australia this year and I can get her to him but if not, I’ll find another good stallion,’’ Kwok said. “She will stay in Australia anyway and I’ll probably retain the colt to race.’’
Kwok was full of praise for Inglis Digital, a platform he uses regularly.
“I’ve always loved Inglis Digital, they’re doing an amazing job and when the platform offers mares of the quality of Sliders, it’s a dream to the breeders to have access,’’ Kwok said.

“I love it, I honestly love it, it’s the best online place to buy, especially mares. Everyone at Inglis is so friendly and provide the best service.’’
Coolmore’s Brian McGuire was pleased with today’s outcome with Sliders.

“Sliders is from an outstanding family and her I Am Invincible colt foal is a lovely type so she deserved to make that sort of money,” McGuire said. “The promotion of the package was excellent and it was helpful that (Inglis CEO) Sebastian (Hutch) came to inspect the mare and foal at the weekend.

“I know he fielded plenty of enquiries for her and that sort of service, along with the promotional video that was created by Inglis, shows why the platform has been so successful and why people like using it to buy and sell.”
With this purchase, Kwok secures a colt by champion stallion I Am Invincible and a mare - currently empty after missing to I Am Invincible last spring - that is closely related to one of Australia’s most exciting young stallions, adding both proven talent and elite breeding potential to his operation.
Yes Yoshi 5% share values him at $400,000
A 5% share in the exciting Charlotte Littlefield-trained Yes Yoshi (Yes Yes Yes) has been snapped up by Redden Racing for $20,000, placing a valuation of $400,000 on the talented gelding.
Yes Yoshi is quickly establishing himself as one of Victoria’s most promising 3-year-olds, breaking his maiden in emphatic style at Sale on 8 January by just under three lengths over Keep It Real (Too Darn Hot {GB}) - and doing so in track-record time. From his very first jump-out on 22 July, the son of Yes Yes Yes displayed natural ability that immediately caught the eye of some of the game’s leading judges.

Out of the three-time winning Camelot (GB) mare Camelle (NZ), the stable has long earmarked him as a sprinter-miler, and with his high cruising speed and sharp turn of foot, there appears to be no ceiling on what he may be capable of achieving.
The ownership group has resisted the lure of Hong Kong, electing instead to race him locally and test his credentials at stakes and Group level. Yes Yoshi is set to return to the track in early February and, given his upward trajectory, he will be one to watch closely as he takes the next step in his career.
Luke Berger Racing secure Portofino for $105,000
Portofino, a lightly raced gelding by I Am Invincible, has been purchased by Luke Berger Racing for $105,000.
The good-looking gelding has had just five career starts to date and has already shown ability at city level, being placed in metropolitan company and running a good fourth on the Kensington at his last start behind Skirmish (Smart Missile).

Berger - a former trainer who now runs an ownership management groups enterprise - and intends to send Portofino to Mudgee trainer Mack Griffith.
“He fits our model, we look for well bred horses with good form and then we place them with trainers with high strike rates and put them in a weaker jurisdiction,’’ Berger said.
“We actually bought a horse called Voracious off Inglis Digital in mid-December and won our hometown Cup in Inverell 10 days later, a race we’d been trying to win since 1987 with the family, so it was a huge thrill.
“There’s no doubt Inglis Digital is the leading platform there is, I find it the most reliable and the best horses are on there twice a month, every month.’’

Portofino boasts a strong pedigree, being out of the dual Listed winner Palazzo Pubblico (Conatus). She has already produced multiple stakes performers, including Palazzo Spirit (Spirit Of Boom) and Catoggio (Written Tycoon), underlining the depth of the family.
Kimochi’s half-sister sold to Hall of Fame Bloodstock
Distinctly Summer (Invader), the winning half-sister to Group 1 winner Kimochi (Brave Smash {Jpn}), has been purchased by Hall of Fame Bloodstock for $60,000.
The lightly raced 4-year-old mare showed promise on the track, leading all the way to a 1000-metre win at Echuca. In her most recent preparation, she ran competitively against Vangogh Bankcheque (Anders), a 3-year-old who later finished third in the $150,000 Schweppervesence Plate behind the talented Pallaton (Wootton Bassett {GB}) at Flemington during Cup week.

Distinctly Summer now transitions to a breeding career. Her half-sister Kimochi earned $2.1 million on the track and was purchased for $2.2 million at last year's Inglis Chairman’s Sale with Ilsay Vale signing the docket, before being covered by Alabama Express last spring.
Her dam, Summer Fun (I Am Invincible), has a Farnan yearling colt who sold for $200,000 to Laurel Oak Bloodstock (FBAA) out of Kia Ora Stud's draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale last week. Summer Fun also has a Snitzel colt foal at foot and was served by Zoustar last September, giving the family continued value in the breeding shed.
Due to a tendon injury, the owners have decided to sell Distinctly Summer as a broodmare, providing Hall Of Fame Bloodstock a straightforward opportunity to acquire a mare closely related to a Group 1 winner for a reasonably modest price.
