The GOAT James McDonald. he gets to ride the best horses in the country/world.

Who was the first horse that played a role in you being hooked to the sport?
A little mare named Steptorio - she was the first horse I strapped at the races, the first winner I strapped, and she also taught me how to ride. She then went on to be our stable pony.

Who is your favourite broodmare sire?
Dylan Thomas. They are hard to find nowadays but they are always very tough.

What racing book would you recommend?
The weekly addition of the best bets. Jim Cassidy’s autobiography, 'Pumper', is also a great read.
What is your favourite track to attend the races?
Moonee Valley before the upgrade😓.

Do you have any raceday superstitions?
I truly believe it is bad luck to have a bridle on at the same time as the head collar when at the races. I’ll take it to the grave.
Name an emerging talent in the industry, and say why?
Mollie Fitzgerald is a super rider and will be a top jockey for a long time.

If you had to pick one horse that you think is most likely to win the 2026 G1 Golden Slipper, who is it?
Hidrix - he is in a great camp. Chris Waller is a 'grand final' trainer and he is super consistent at the big races he targets.

What is your favourite sport, and team that you follow?
The mighty Wests Tigers in Rugby League. Benji Marshall will be taking us back to the grand final.
