Two promising runners by Capitalist and I Am Invincible look very had to beat at Cranbourne on Friday night.
Southside Cranbourne, Race 1, 6.15pm AEDT, The Valley @ Southside Cranbourne 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate, $60,000, 1000m
Headbanger, 3-year-old filly (Capitalist x Sistonic {Bel Esprit})
The promising Headbanger (Capitalist) looks very hard to beat at Cranbourne on Friday night for trainer Grahame Begg.
He brings very strong form to this race having placed in three of her four starts, and the 1000 metre maiden suits here, as she is a very quick filly.
Capitalist | Standing at Newgate Farm
Headbanger's dam Sistonic (Bel Esprit) was a dual winner, but has an exceptional pedigree being a three-quarter-sister to the Champion unbeaten mare Black Caviar (Bel Esprit).
She also has proven herself as a broodmare leaving three winners including the stakes-winner Semillion (Shalaa {Ire}), while other illustrious members of the family include All Too Hard, Nepotism (Brutal {NZ}), Ole Kirk, and Gimmie Par (Not A Single Doubt).
Sistonic, in recent years, has left a yearling colt by Blue Point (Ire) and was served by Schwarz last spring.
Southside Cranboure, Race 2, 6.45pm AEDT, Ladbrokes Hosted Pots 3YO Maiden Plate, $60,000, 1400m
Irreverent, 3-year-old filly (I Am Invincible x Flippant {Hinchinbrook})
The beautifully-bred Irreverent (I Am Invincible) looks a great chance at Cranbourne on Friday night for trainers Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman.
She brings rock solid form to this event having placed in three of her four starts, including a very good third resuming at Sandown in late January.

Irreverent is out of the classy Flippant (Hinchinbrook) who was a winner at Group 3 level, and Listed level three times. Flippant is also a three-quarter-sister to the seven-time winner I Am Excited (Snitzel), her career highlight was winning the G1 Galaxy Handicap.
This is also the extended family of the Group 1 winners Atlantic Jewel (Danehill {USA}), Russian Emperor (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), and Commanding Jewel (Commands).
Irreverent was purchased by the TFI/Kia Ora Joint Venture for $750,000 from the Yarraman Park Stud at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Looking Back:
Rich On Bubbles (Capitalist) - Won very nicely at Pakenham, it was a brave effort.
Stuntman (NZ) (Circus Maximus {Ire]) - Ran a very good second at Pakenham, he attacked the line hard late.
