Favourite moment - racing, sales or breeding related for 2025 (or early 2026)?
Winning the Perth Cup with Hemlock Stone, an $11,000 yearling. I think that means I was the only bid!

If you could be someone in the industry for a day. Who would it be and why?
Anyone who works for me. They’ve got a very good Boss!
Who was the first horse that played a role in you being hooked to the sport?
Roisin Dubh, a mare who raced here in the mid 1970’s. Bernie Ryan used to ride her. I kept all the newspaper clippings from her wins.
Who is your favourite broodmare sire?
No real preference. I just stay clear of those likely not to enhance the breed.
What racing book would you recommend?
The flapping tarp. It’s a horror story for horses. Don’t let them read it at bedtime though!
What is your favourite track to attend the races?
Small country tracks where there’s still more than four bookies and the CWA ladies make the hamburgers!
Do you have any raceday superstitions?
Two. The first trainer I see on raceday often trains a winner and almost without fail, when a jockey gets beat on one of ours, they’ll come out and win a later race.
Name an emerging talent in the industry, and say why?
Johnny Price. I think he’s just approaching his peak!
If you had to pick one horse that you think is most likely to win the 2026 G1 Golden Slipper who is it?
Ciaron's Star. Unlucky not to have got a run in the Inglis Millenium which I think it would have won. Very nice owners!

What is your favourite sport and team that you follow?
Premier League - Nottingham Forest! It’s just like racehorse ownership, high hopes, more downs than ups, different trainers and the odd win here and there to keep you coming back.
