Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Two promising fillies by So You Think (NZ) and Harry Angel (Ire) are chasing maiden success across Australia on Sunday.

So Enchanting, 3-year-old filly (So You Think (NZ) x Miss Hufflepuff {Encosta De Lago})
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained So Enchanting (So You Think {NZ}) lines up at Swan Hill on Sunday over 1600 metres.
She has mixed her form a bit in her short career, but was an eye-catcher resuming when running fifth behind Vim Vitae (The Autumn Sun) at Seymour over 1300 metres, naturally the step up in distance looks ideal second-up.

So Enchanting is out of the three-time winning mare Miss Hufflepuff (Encosta De Lago), who has produced four winners, including the G1 South Australian Derby winner Coco Sun (The Autumn Sun), and the R. Listed Inglis Nursery placegetter Nymphadora (Yes Yes Yes).
This is also the family of the Hong Kong Champion stayer Liberator (Encosta De Lago and the Group 2 winner Etana (Shamus Award).
Miss Hufflepuff, since producing So Enchanting, has left a colt foal by So You Think (NZ), and was served by Celestial Legend last spring.
So Enchanting was purchased for $240,000 by First Light racing, Tony and Calvin McEvoy and Belmont Bloodstock Agency (FBAA) from the Tyreel Stud draft at the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Subsiding, 2-year-old filly (Harry Angel (Ire) x Diminish {Fastnet Rock})
The Matthew Dunn-trained 2-year-old filly Subsiding (Harry Angel {Ire]) makes her debut at Grafton on Sunday over 1000 metres.
She has shown some promise at the trials, and looks a good each-way chance in the hands of Andrew Mallyon.

Subsiding is out of the unraced Fastnet Rock mare Diminish, she has already left the dual-winner Dealt (Dundeel {NZ}), and the Group 3-placed Amazake (Maurice {Jpn}). Diminish is strongly related being a half-sister to the outstanding sprinter Buffering (Mossman), he was a 20-time winner, including at Group 1 level seven times.
Diminish, in recent times, has left a Shamus Award yearling filly, and was served by Proisir last spring.
Subsiding was purchased for $160,000 by Matthew Dunn and Neil Jenkinson (FBAA) from the Newhaven Park draft at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Looking Back:
Jourama (Frosted {USA}) - Ran a brave fourth at Caulfield at big odds, he is one to watch.
Final Crusade (Spirit Of Boom) - Was disappointing running tenth at the Gold Coast in the QTIS Jewel.
Naughty Neil (Capitalist) - Was a very impressive winner, he missed the start badly, but it didn't matter as he ran away out wide to win in style.
