Ahead of the 2026 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, we have identified four yearlings whose pedigrees have received black-type or metropolitan updates over the past couple of months, potentially increasing their value and certainly enhancing their profile.

Lot 268 – Farnan x Devil In Her Heart (Star Witness), colt – on account of Carramar Park

Hong Kong form is valuable form, and Lot 268 is a half-brother to this season’s Listed Hong Kong Classic Mile victor Little Paradise (Toronado {Ire}). It’s the first leg in the prominent 4-Year-Old Series that leads towards the Derby, the race all owners in Hong Kong want to win.

With champions like Romantic Warrior (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}), Golden Sixty (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}) and Voyage Bubble (Deep Field) all winning the Classic Mile, the future looks very exciting for Little Paradise.

His half-brother is by G1 Golden Slipper winner Farnan who is battling Ghaiyyath (Ire) for Second Season Sire honours this season.

Little Paradise is the only runner to date for unraced Devil In Her Heart (Star Witness). She’s a half-sister to three stakes winners, led by G2 Emancipation Stakes victrix Olentia (Zoustar). Both Olentia and Group 3 winner Wandabaa (Wandjina) earned nearly $1 million, while the other stakes winner Malkovich (Choisir) earned over $1.1 million on the track.

Lot 285 – I Am Invincible x Ellicazoom (Testa Rossa), filly – on account of Longwood Thoroughbreds

What could be more exciting than an I Am Invincible filly who is a half-sister to a current stakes winner? Celerity (Exceed And Excel) won the Listed Mahini Classic at Morphettville in early March to lift her pedigree into a new realm.

This filly already qualified for Easter before her half-sister was a stakes winner, due to her depth of female family. Her dam, Ellicazoom (Testa Rossa) won the G3 WW Cockram Stakes and was placed in the G1 William Reid Stakes. She also won the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes, making her a stakes winner on the east and west coasts.

Ellicazoom is a daughter of Group 1 winner Ellicorsam (Fimiston), who also produced stakes placed El Doute who is at stud in New Zealand.

Lot 301 – Justify (USA) x Extensible (Exceed And Excel), filly – on account of Tyreel Stud

The ultimate upgrade to any pedigree is the addition of a Group 1 winner, and this filly has stack loads of residual value now that she’s a half-sister to G1 Oakleigh Plate victor Tropicus. The son of Too Darn Hot (GB) is assured of a place at stud one day, given he’s owned by Kia Ora Stud, and so this filly represents an opportunity to buy into a potentially sire-making family.

Tropicus and Lot 301 are out of G3 Summoned Stakes-placed Extensible (Exceed And Excel) who won four times in her racing career. And she has a 3-year-old filly and 2-year-old colt both by Wootton Bassett (GB) still to race for her.

Extensible is a full sister to Listed Gosford Belle Of The Turf Stakes winner Cathay Lady, while stakes winner Cutadeel (Dundeel {NZ}) also features close up in this family.

Lot 341 – I Am Invincible x Humma Humma (Denman), colt – on account of Widden Stud

Humma Humma (Denman) elevated herself from an $80,000 yearling to a $1 million broodmare purchase thanks to her six wins led by the G3 Proud Miss Stakes. Last year, Widden Stud sold her Snitzel colt to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock for an eye-watering $2.8 million.

With such a weighty price tag to live up to, the colt, now named The Next Episode, won a trial in October. He debuted in the Golden Gift before given a short break. He returned from that break to showcase all his talents with a strong victory at Warwick Farm. The Next Episode holds a nomination for Saturday week’s G1 Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The Next Episode’s 3-year-old half-sister is stakes placed Price Tag (Zoustar), and Humma Humma has a Zoustar weanling filly. Humma Humma is a half-sister to Listed winner Tycoon Humma (Capitalist), and this is the family of G1 Victoria Derby winner Manzoice (Almanzor {Fr}).
