Lot 52 – Lucky Vega (Ire) x Rowsthorn (Written Tycoon), colt – on account of Yulong
There have been updates galore for Lot 52 – the strong Lucky Vega (Ire) colt out of the 2-year-old winner Rowsthorn (Written Tycoon).
Rowsthorn’s 2-year-old son Alibaba (Alabama Express) has performed strongly this season, winning the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (c&g) and running third in the lucrative R. Listed Inglis Millennium, adding to his earlier Listed placing prior to the catalogue release. The Ken and Kasey Keys-trained colt was also unlucky in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes, finishing eighth after settling last in running.

Another update came last weekend when the Trevor Rogers-trained Roulette King (Casino Prince) took his record to four wins from five starts, claiming the G2 Alister Clark Stakes over a mile at Caulfield. The manner of his victory suggests there is every confidence more updates will continue to come for this ever-improving pedigree.
Adding further strength to the damline, Yulong’s young stallion Lucky Vega (Ire) has been in strong form, siring the likes of the G2 Avondale Guineas winner That’s Gold.
Lot 67 – Pierata x Sboog (Redoute’s Choice), filly – on account of Kulani Park
Any updates that come through in stakes racing are always very well received, and commercially, updates in 2-year-old racing are even more highly sought after.
Lot 67 – a Pierata filly out of Sboog (Redoute’s Choice) – has a page full of strong 2-year-old form. Sboog herself was placed as a juvenile, and while Pierata improved with age, he was still a winner at two. However, it is as a broodmare that Sboog has truly flourished.
She has produced the outstanding 2-year-old Coleman (Pierata), who is, interestingly, also by Pierata, just like this filly. He was successful in the G3 Chairman’s Stakes and the Listed Debutant Stakes, and ran a very good second in the G1 Golden Slipper Stakes.

Another of Sboog’s progeny, Liwa (Mulaazem), was a Listed winner as a 2-year-old in Western Australia. Now, she has added further depth to the page this season with the smart 2-year-old Agrarian Girl (Tassort), who, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, has won the Listed Lonhro Plate and ran second in the G2 Reisling Stakes.
This filly therefore holds plenty of residual value and is sure to be well inspected from the Kulani Park draft.
Lot 451 – Snitzel x Ms Bad Behavior (Can) (Blame {USA}), colt – on account of Arrowfield Stud
There is no doubt that Lot 451 – a Snitzel colt out of the star-producing mare Ms Bad Behavior (Can) (Blame {USA}) – has a pedigree of the highest calibre. He is a full brother to the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner and Coolmore Stud stallion Switzerland, and hails from an international pedigree full of class performers.
The pedigree continues to develop and flourish, with the 3-year-old colt Decorum (Snitzel) now taking his record to three metropolitan wins for trainer Michael Freedman, and looking one to follow.

Meanwhile, the 2-year-old full brother St Gotthard (Snitzel), a $2.7 million purchase by Coolmore from the Arrowfield Stud draft at last year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, has been showing plenty of promise at the trials for trainer Chris Waller and is certainly one to watch.
Ms Bad Behavior has, naturally, been strongly mated. She has a Snitzel weanling colt, and after Snitzel sadly died last year, her regular spring mating came to an end. She was subsequently served by Arrowfield Stud’s very much in-form The Autumn Sun.
