Magic Millions Digital realises $280,000 for Admiration Express

Spirited bidding battles in this week's Magic Millions Digital Sale resulted in a new high water mark for the rejuvenated platform, where Boomer Bloodstock and Greenfields Lodge secured multiple stakes winner Admiration Express for $280,000.

Wednesday’s Magic Millions Digital Sale saw 29 lots sold for a gross of $541,400 at the close of bidding, with a clearance rate of 45.3%.

Dual Group 3 winner Admiration Express (My Admiration) topped the Magic Millions Digital Sale at $280,000, when selling to Boomer Bloodstock Pty Ltd (FBAA) and Greenfields Lodge.

Jason Miller Racing was the leading vendor, selling their one lot for $280,000, followed by the Silverdale Farm who sold six lots for a total of $73,100.

Boomer swoops for My Admiration

Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) and Greenfields Lodge combined to secure stakeswinning mare Admiration Express (My Admiration) in this week’s Magic Millions Digital Sale, paying $280,000 to purchase the grey as a broodmare prospect from Jason Miller Racing. She was initially a $60,000 purchase for Miller from Namerik Thoroughbreds' Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale draft.

"It is a great result," Miller said. "We are obviously a bit sad because she was a very special horse for us. She is going to a good home and we wish her new owners the very best of luck."

The 6-year-old counts the G3 Champion Fillies Stakes, the G3 Strickland Stakes, and the Listed Ascot One Thousand Guineas amongst her four wins, and was also second in the G1 Northerly Stakes to Light Infantry Man (Fr) (Fast Company {Ire}) in 2024 amongst six stakes placings. She retires with earnings of $971,055, having ran third in the G3 La Trice Stakes at her most recent start.

A half-sister to six winners, Admiration Express is the best performed of three stakes winners for her sire My Admiration, and is closely related to Listed Tasmanian Guineas winner Moving Money (Artie Schiller {USA}) and $600,000 earner Weaponson (Oratorio).

Smitten sells in foal to Stay Inside

Lonhro mare Smitten was the second top lot at Wednesday’s Magic Millions Digital Sale, selling to PCL Corp for $35,000. Offered by Silverdale Farm, she carries a positive pregnancy to G1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner and Newgate Farm stallion Stay Inside, who has produced several stakes winners amongst his first crop to the track.

Smitten was a two-time winner on the track herself and is a half-sister to multiple Group winner Astoria (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}), out of a half-sister to Champion 2YO and Champion 3YO Viscount, Listed-winning Helsinborg (Danehill {USA}), and multiple Group 1-performed Dangerous (Danehill {USA}). Her second dam is dual Listed winner Antwerp (NZ) (Sir Tristram {Ire}), a full sister to Tristalove (NZ).

Smitten’s In The Congo yearling colt was sold for $230,000 at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale to the bid of Shailer Racing, Julian Blaxland Bloodstock (FBAA), and Hughes Bloodstock. She has a weanling colt by In The Congo heading to the sales next year.

Berger restocks with sweet son of Dundeel

Luke Berger Racing purchased the third top lot in Wednesday’s sale when paying $27,500 to secure Zucchero (Dundeel {NZ}) from the Arrowfield Training Centre.

The 5-year-old gelding is a three-time winner already out of G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (fillies) placegetter Sweetener (Snitzel), making him a full brother to G3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes winner Jasmin Rouge.

Sweetener is a half-sister to G1 Robert Sangster Stakes winner Secret Agenda (Not A Single Doubt), dam of G2 Roman Consul Stakes victory Hidden Motive (Capitalist), as well as the stakes performers Tutta La Vita (The Autumn Sun), Stellar Pauline (Not A Single Doubt), and Donandkim (Smart Missile). Another half-sister Final Agreement (Not A Single Doubt) is the dam of dual Group 3 winner Enthaar (Written Tycoon).
