Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Three very exciting 2-year-olds by young stallions Stay Inside, Home Affairs and Ole Kirk all chase stakes success across Australia on Anzac Day Saturday.

Flemington, Race 3, 2.10pm AEDT, Listed 2YO Anzac Day Stakes, $175,000, 1400m

Nialah, 2-year-old filly (Stay Inside x Madeenaty {Exceed And Excel})

The Ciaron Maher-trained Nialah (Stay Inside) looks to break through for maiden success at Listed level in the Listed Anzac Day Stakes at Flemington on Saturday over 1400 metres.

She was good running third on debut at Wyong late last month behind the promising Tenenbaum (Snitzel) and will be ridden by Patrick Moloney from barrier number two on Saturday.

Nialah is the third live-foal out of Madeenaty (Exceed And Excel) who was a sharp 2-year-old winning the R. Listed Wyong Magic Millions Classic and the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes.

Madeenaty's dam Set For Fame (Reset) was also smart winning the G2 Dane Ripper Stakes, G2 Caulfield Sprint Handicap, G2 Angus Armanasco Stakes and the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes.

Since producing Nialah, Madeenaty has left a yearling colt by Capitalist, and unfortunately has missed and slipped to Stay Inside over the last two breeding seasons.

Nialah was purchased for $540,000 by Group 1 Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Newgate farm draft at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Eagle Farm, Race 5, 2.03pm AEDT, This Story Australia Listed 2YO Calaway Gal, $200,000, 1200m

Affari, 2-year-old filly (Home Affairs x Super Too {Hinchinbrook})

The Chris Waller-trained Affari (Home Affairs) chases success at Listed level at start number two at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The well-bred filly ran a solid third on debut behind Forest King (Tiger Of Malay) back in late February, and after a freshen up won a trial nicely at Canterbury over 898 metres earlier this month to prepare for her resuming run.

Affari is by the exciting Home Affairs and is out of the speedy Super Too (Hinchinbrook), a five-time winner up to 1000 metres who was placed three times at Group level. She is a half-sister to the Group 3-winning stallion Super One.

In recent seasons, Super Too has produced an I Am Invincible yearling colt and was served by Zoustar last spring.

Affari was purchased by Star Thoroughbreds and Randwick Bloodstock Agency (FBAA) for $370,000 from the Glenlogan Park draft at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Morphettville, Race 2, 1.46pm AEDT (1.16pm local), G3 Sportsbet 2YO Breeders’ Stakes, $150,000, 1200m

Ole Go, 2-year-old colt (Ole Kirk x Dana Point {I Am Invincible})

The Michael Hickmott-trained Ole Go (Ole Kirk) takes his place in the G3 Breeders’ Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday. The talented colt made a great start to his career back in late January when winning by just over a couple of lengths over Big Wigs (Gold Standard).

That form now looks very strong as Big Wigs was a very impressive winner of the $1 million Vobis Showdown at Caulfield in the middle of March.

He then ran a brave second behind his race-rival again Verzain (Zousain) in the Listed Without Fear Stakes earlier this month off a wide run, he looks very well-placed form the inside barrier in this race on Saturday.

Ole Go is the first foal from the dual winner Dana Point (I Am Invincible), her dam Kemizengo (Redoute’s Choice) is a full sister to G1 TJ Smith Stakes winner Master Of Design and a half to G1 Premier's Champion Stakes winner Suntagonal (Octagonal {NZ}).

This is also the close family of the South African Champion 2-tyear-old filly and top producer Tracy’s Element (Last Tycoon {Ire}) and Danasinga.

Dana Point, in recent years, has produced an Ole Kirk yearling filly, a Stay Inside weanling filly and was covered by St Mark’s Basilica (Fr) last spring.

Ole Go was purchased from the Vinery Stud draft at last year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $250,000 by Michael Hickmott Bloodstock.

Looking Back:

Tisseyre (Maurice {Jpn}) - Ran a solid enough second as favourite at Cranbourne.

Astiquer (Capitalist) - Was a very nice winner on debut at Cranbourne.
