Lord Horatio set for Magic Millions National 2YO Classic
The third edition of the Magic Millions National 2YO Classic in three weeks is the target for Tom Charlton-trained 2-year-old colt Lord Horatio (Stay Inside) after he won at Warwick Farm on debut. Ridden by Dylan Gibbons, he covered the 1000 metres in 57.67s taking victory from Michael Freedman-trained colt Portico (Exceed And Excel) with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained colt Celtic Spy (Farnan) in third.
“I was a bit concerned when he got to the front that he might have a look around which I think he probably did but credit to the horse, he obviously has a good level of ability to be able to do that on debut,” Charlton said
“I think he is a big gross horse and there would be honest improvement you'd think going forward. He is not just a 2-year-old type we feel, so full credit to the whole staff and everyone who has educated him through the whole process.
“I don't see any reason why we need to stop (with him now) and there is a valuable Magic Millions race in three weeks that we can consider.”

The inaugural Magic Millions National 2YO Classic was won by Arabian Summer (Too Darn Hot {GB}) who is catalogued in Thursday night’s Inglis Chairman’s Sale, and last year by Isti Star (Better Than Ready).
Sales: Sold by Highgrove Stud at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $300,000 to O’Shea-Charlton Racing and James Bester Bloodstock.
Pedigree: Lord Horatio is the sixth winner for first season sire Stay Inside, who has already sired Group winners Blue Door and Incognito as well as Listed winner Lassified in his first crop.
He is the first foal of winning mare Murchison (More Than Ready {USA}) who is a half-sister to G1 Coolmore Classic victrix Steps In Time (Danehill Dancer {Ire}), meaning that his second dam is G2 Stan Fox Stakes winner Rare Insight (NZ) (O’Reilly {NZ}).
This is the family of Group 1 winners Espiona (Extreme Choice), Vision And Power (NZ) (Carnegie {Ire}) and Glamour Puss (NZ) (Tale Of The Cat {USA}).
Condone dominates at Warwick Farm
Seven figure yearling, now 3-year-old gelding Condone (Justify {USA}) opened his account with a strong victory at Warwick Farm for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. The expensive gelding was second on debut in the spring before a lacklustre effort saw him spelled. This was his first start back for this campaign.
Condone won by half-a-length from the Tom Charlton-trained favourite Graffiti Tycoon (Written Tycoon). Coolmore Stud sold Condone as a yearling and stayed in the ownership with his victory being celebrated in their colours.
“You know, his trials have been very sound, particularly his last one,” said a stable representative post-race.
“He just needed that to top him off for today and you know, great ride by Adam. He just took bad luck out of the equation, jumped to the front and stayed there. I think he's more versatile than just leading and I think, with today out of the way, I think we can look to getting out over longer trips as well.”
Sales: Purchased by his trainers and Kestrel Thoroughbreds for $1.3 million from Coolmore Stud’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale draft.

Pedigree: Condone is the first live foal of Invincible Star (I Am Invincible) who won the G3 Ottawa Stakes at two and trained on to win two more stakes races as well as run second in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes to globe trotting Merchant Navy.
Invincible Star’s 2-year-old filly has been named Think You’re A Star (So You Think {NZ}), she has a Justify (USA) yearling colt and a Snitzel weanling colt. Invincible Star is in foal to Shinzo.
This is the family Group 1 winner Unearthly (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) and Invincible Star is out of a winning half-sister to four-time Group 3 winner Viking Hero (Elvestroem) and to the dam of Listed winner Festivity (I Am Invincible).
Uncertain Glory wins hot juvenile race
In a hot field of juvenile fillies, it was the Michael Freedman-trained Uncertain Glory (Zoustar) who debuted with an almost half-length victory over Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Palmanova (Tassort) with Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained La Barrita (St Mark’s Basilica {Fr}) in third.
"The biggest query today was the 1000 metres. She will be better at 1100 and 1200," jockey Tommy Berry said.
"She was just a bit impatient in the gates. She was the same at the trials and she's not pinging the barriers, but she has got good speed after that. She got a little bit lost at the furlong, but I loved that when Kerrin McEvoy's filly (La Barrita) came to her outside, she really knuckled down late."
The Ciaron Maher-trained debutant Sumeria (Zoustar), who cost $2.6 million at last year’s Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, was 2.5 lengths off the winner. The race was run slower than the colts in the previous race, covering 1000 metres in 58.10s.
Trainer Michael Freedman's stable representative Sophie Johnson added, "He's got a couple of options and her owner is here and he's quite keen on the idea of going to Queensland."
Sales: Widden Stud sold Uncertain Glory for $270,000 at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale to Wynne Pastoral Partnership.
Pedigree: Uncertain Glory’s dam, Positive Problems (Sebring) won six times including once in Sydney and placing in the G3 Gosford RC Belle of the Turf Handicap. Uncertain Glory is her fifth foal and fourth winner with all previous foals greeting the judge bar 3-year-old filly Zambrosia (Zoustar) who has been placed twice in New Zealand.

Positive Problems is a full sister to Group 2-placed Sebring Dream, who is the dam of Listed placed winner of five races Celestial Storm (Zoustar).
Oliveanotherday adds Listed Wangoom Handicap
The second day of the Warrnambool carnival came with more history making moments as Tom Dabernig-trained Oliveanotherday (Nicconi) became the first 3-year-old to win the Listed Wangoom Handicap in the past 30 years. He won by a storming 2.5 lengths from Ciaron Maher-trained Immortal Star (I Am Immortal), giving Maher a close attempt at winning the only major at Warrnambool that he has yet to win. In third was Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained Great Maximus (Magnus).
It was the first stakes win for the 3-year-old gelding who took his impressive record to five wins from seven starts with earnings over $286,000.
“We’ve actually known from early days that he’s had a stack of ability, but he just keeps on improving,” Dabernig said.
“We’ve actually known from early days that he’s (Oliveanotherday) had a stack of ability, but he just keeps on improving.” - Tom Dabernig
“The main sprint of the carnival, I really wanted to be part of it. I’ve been lucky enough to train a lot of decent horses and win some good races, but that one… I was feeling the pressure coming into it, with the 3-year-old in the race, but that’s what good horses do - just better than the opposition. I’d say there’s another couple of decent wins in him for sure.”
Dabernig enjoyed a double on the card, winning race seven with Dantooine (Rebel Dane) who took his record to four wins.

Olive has a 2-year-old filly by Nicconi, a yearling filly by Foxwedge and is back in foal to Nicconi.
This is the family of Group 1 winner Hucklebuck (Elvstroem) and recent G1 Oakleigh Plate-placed Group 3 winner She’s Bulletproof (Shooting To Win).
Sword Of Legacy set for Magic Millions Sale
Matt Dunn-trained 3-year-old filly Sword Of Legacy (Too Darn Hot {GB}) upgraded her record with a storming four length victory at Eagle Farm on Wednesday over 1000 metres. The filly is entered into the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale where she is Lot 472.
The filly might have been recording her first victory in seven starts, but she’s always had ability. Second on debut at two, she ran second in the G3 Chairman’s Stakes at her next start before a fourth behind future dual Group 1 winner Tentyris in the Listed Talindert Stakes.
Sword Of Legacy had just one start in the spring, and was second at her most start on resuming this autumn.
Sales: A homebred for Hesket Bloodstock.
Pedigree: A half-sister to G3 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes-placed winner of six races Nodachi (No Nay Never {USA}), Sword Of Legacy is out of winning Exceed And Excel mare Kaiken. Kaiken is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Sword Of Light (New Approach {Ire}) who is the dam of this season’s Listed winning 3-year-old colt Beskar (Snitzel). Kaiken is also a half-sister to Listed winner Sword Of Justice (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}).
