Travel & Hospitality Coordinator

We’re hiring! NZB is looking for a talented individual to join our hospitality team. NZB is a leading thoroughbred and standardbred auction sales, airfreight, insurance and finance company providing a full suite of services to the racing and breeding industry.

We are looking for an organised administrative star to manage all things hospitality and travel to support NZB’s sales activity. This role suits someone with a background as an Executive Assistant, Secretary or in hotel operations. You’ll use your strong time‑management, attention to detail and interpersonal skills to ensure a high standard of service.

Be a part of an exciting, unique industry with live auctions and various events throughout the year. The full-time role will be based at our beautiful Karaka office, situated on 40 lush acres with a gym onsite and plenty of free parking. On our doorstep are multiple cafes and bars, plus a growing and vibrant town centre.

Stallion Manager

Yulong Stud is seeking an experienced and capable Stallion Manager to oversee the care, management, and presentation of our stallions at our thoroughbred farm located at Segenhoe Stud in the Hunter Valley.

This is a key role within the business and an exciting opportunity to work in a new, state-of-the-art stallion facility, playing a vital part in supporting the breeding operation and upholding the Yulong standard of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the serving barn during the breeding season

• Overseeing stallion nutrition, fitness, and daily care programs

• Maintaining stallions in excellent health and condition

• Coordinating and managing all farrier and veterinary requirements

• Leading and supervising a small team of stallion staff

• Ensuring stallion barns and surrounding areas are kept clean, tidy, and well presented at all times

• Conducting client inspections and interacting professionally with visitors

• Maintaining accurate records and reporting to management

• Upholding a high level of confidentiality

• Assisting in other areas of the farm as required during the off-season

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience working managing a busy stallion operation

• Strong horsemanship skills and sound knowledge of stallion care and breeding operations

• Leadership experience with the ability to supervise and motivate staff

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail

• Ability to work effectively under pressure during the breeding season

Assistant Stallion Manager

Yulong Stud is seeking a motivated and experienced Stallion Manager Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our stallion barn at our thoroughbred farm located at Segenhoe Stud in the Hunter Valley.

Working closely with and reporting directly to the Stallion Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a capable horseperson looking to step into a senior role within a state-of-the-art stallion facility and further develop their leadership skills within a leading breeding operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the Stallion Manager with daily coordination of stallion barn operations

• Assisting with staff supervision, task allocation, and daily workflows

• Assisting in the covering barn, including preparing mares and supporting services

• Overseeing daily stallion care, feeding, grooming, and exercise programs

• Monitoring stallion health, behaviour, and condition, and reporting concerns promptly

• Assisting with stallion nutrition, fitness, and conditioning programs

• Preparing and parading stallions for clients and visitors

• Administering treatments as directed and maintaining accurate records

• Assisting veterinarians, farriers, and external service providers

• Supporting other areas of the farm as required

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum two years’ experience working with stallions

• Strong horse handling skills with a high standard of presentation

• Emerging leadership skills with the ability to guide and support team members

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability

• Ability to work well within a team and independently when required

• A current driver’s licence and eligibility to work in Australia

• Experience within a thoroughbred breeding environment is highly desirable

Stallion Groom

Yulong Stud is seeking a dedicated and reliable Stallion Groom to join our stallion team at our thoroughbred farm located at Segenhoe Stud in the Hunter Valley.

Reporting to the Stallion Manager and Stallion Manager Assistant, you will play an important role in the daily care, presentation, and wellbeing of our stallions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a world-class stallion facility, alongside a passionate and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing high-level daily care, feeding, grooming, and exercise of stallions

• Assisting with routine handling and movement of stallions

• Monitoring stallion health and condition and reporting any changes

• Assisting in the covering barn, including preparing and holding mares as directed

• Maintaining cleanliness, order, and presentation of the stallion barn and surrounds

• Cleaning, maintaining, and organising gear, rugs, and equipment

• Assisting veterinarians, farriers, and other service providers as required

• Accurate completion of daily records and treatment logs

• Parading stallions for staff, clients, or visitors under supervision

• Supporting other areas of the farm as required

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience handling stallions or colts

• Breeding barn experience preferred but not essential

• A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

• A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently

• Strong communication skills

• A current driver’s licence and eligibility to work in Australia

• Experience within a thoroughbred breeding environment is highly desirable

Senior Roles at Godolphin Japan

Godolphin Japan operates breeding and pre-training farms in Hokkaido and on the main island of Honshu. Our horses compete primarily on the elite and lucrative JRA circuit.

As part of a plan to further expand our racing operation, we are looking to fill a number of senior roles at our pre-training farms, which together stable more than 200 horses. Applicants should have excellent horse skills and, ideally, have held a trainer's licence or had extensive experience as an assistant trainer or head lad. Successful candidates will be expected to lead and develop our multinational team of employees.
