Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Two promising 3-year-olds by I Am Invincible and Nicconi chase maiden success across Australia on Sunday.

Mornington, Race 3, 1.50pm AEST, Sportsbet Fast Form Maiden 3YO Plate, $32,000, 1000m

Chisholm, 3-year-old filly (I Am Invincible x Snitzerland {Snitzel})

Chisholm, a daughter of I Am Invincible, will make her fifth career start for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr at Mornington over 1000 metres on Sunday

She has run in the top four in all of her career starts, and looks ready to gain well deserved success after some smart jump-out form after a recent break.

This well-bred filly is out of the super talented filly Switzerland (Snitzel). She was victorious in the G1 Lightning Stakes as well as another five Group races. She has already proven to be a successful broodmare leaving the Group 3 winner Hard Landing (All Too Hard) and the stakes placed Saas Fee (All Too Hard).

Snitzerland has since produced a 2-year-old colt by Zoustar named Adhara, a yearling filly by Zoustar, and was served by Ole Kirk last spring.

Chisholm was purchased for $500,000 by Kia Ora Stud at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Vinery Stud.

Texas, 3-year-old gelding (Nicconi x Outlaw Kate {Exceed And Excel})

The sharply-bred Texas (Nicconi) chases maiden success for trainer Tony Gollan at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday. He has been running consistently in his career and looks due a winning turn.

Texas is out of the 2-year-old winner and Listed placed Outlaw Kate (Exceed And Excel), she has already shown her class as a broodmare, leaving Skirt The Law (Better Than Ready) who won the R. Listed Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Outlaw Kate is also very well-related being a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Masked Crusader (Toronado {Ire}) and out of the Listed winning juvenile She’s Got Gears (Invincible Spirit).

Outlaw Kate, in recent times, has produced a 2-year-old filly named Gunpowder Boom (Spirit Of Boom), a weanling colt by Better Than Ready, and was subsequently served by Better Than Ready again.

Texas was purchased for $220,000 by China Horse Club, Newgate, Go Bloodstock and Trilogy from the Lyndhurst Stud Farm draft at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. He was then purchased for $42,500 by the Executive Racing Club via the 2026 Inglis February (Late) Online Sale

Looking Back:

St Gotthard (Snitzel) - Was an outstanding winner at Group 3 level on the Gold Coast, while Berzelius (Extreme Choice) was a fast finishing third in the same race.

Blue Meteor (NZ) (Satono Aladdin {Jpn}) - Was scratched from his race at Caulfield.
