Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Two promising 3-year-olds fillies by So You Think (NZ) and Farnan chase maiden success across Australia on Tuesday.

Think About Her, 3-year-old filly (So You Think (NZ) x Sultah {Exceed And Excel})

The Ben, Will and JD Hayes-trained Think About Her (So You Think {NZ}) makes her debut over 1214 metres at Moe on Tuesday. She has had plenty of trial and jump-out experience and looks ready to go for her debut in the hands of Logan Bates.

Think About Her is very well bred being out of the three-time winner Sultah (Exceed And Excel), she has done a great job as a broodmare leaving seven winners, including the Listed winners Haybah (More Than Ready {USA}) and Taraayef (Lonhro).

Sultah, is also a half-sister to the dual Group 1 Derby winner Rebel Raider, the Group 3 winner Shamoline Warrior and the Listed winner Cadillac Mountain (Reset).

Sultah, in recent years, has produced a 2-year-old colt named I Really Think So (So You Think {NZ}), and a weanling filly by Shinzo, before she was left empty last spring.

Think About Her was purchased by Lindsay Park Racing, Flying Start Syndications and Pinhook Bloodstock for $160,000 from the Willow Park Stud draft at the 2024 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Prophet’s Lass, 3-year-old filly (Farnan x Prophet’s Thumb {I Am Invincible})

The Brett Robb-trained Prophet’s Lass (Farnan) chases her maiden win at her second start on Tuesday in the hands of apprentice jockey Izzy Neale.

She ran a solid second on debut at Dubbo over 1000 metres on May 3, and she looks very well-placed to go one better on Tuesday over 1100 metres.

Prophet’s Lass is the first foal out of the smart Group 2 and Listed-winning mare Prophet’s Thumb (I Am Invincible). She is also very well bred being a three-quarter-sister to the G1 Thousand Guineas winner Another Prophet (Brazen beau) and a half-sister to the Group 3 and Listed winner More Prophets (Smart Missile). This is also the extended family of the Listed-winning sprinter Miss Helterskelter (Brocco {USA}).

In recent years, Prophet’s Thumb has left a 2-year-old colt named Three Prophets (Lonhro), a yearling filly by Anamoe, a weanling filly by Farnan, and was last spring served by Harry Angel (Ire).

Prophet’s Lass was passed in at both the 2023 Inglis Sydney Weanling Sale and the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
