Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Two runners by Home Affairs and Ghaiyyath (Ire) chase maiden success at Sale on Thursday.

Cybersecurity, 2-year-old colt (Home Affairs x Tulip {Pierro})

The Ben, Will and JD Hayes-trained 2-year-old colt Cybersecurity (Home Affairs) chases maiden success at start number two at Sale on Thursday. The well-bred colt ran a solid third on debut at Bendigo behind Sharaz (Shalaa {Ire}) late last month over 1100 metres and with natural improvement from that debut run, he looks hard to beat in this race in the hands of Jamie Mott.

Cybersecurity is out of the smart mare Tulip (Pierro), she was a winner at Group 3-level twice and placed in the G1 Golden Slipper Stakes.

Tulip is also very well-bred being a full-sister to the Listed Gosford Gold Cup winner Les Vampires (Pierro) and a half-sister to the Group 3-winner Sacred Eye (High Chaparral {Ire}).

This is also the extended family of the Group 1-winners and very successful sires Flying Spur and Encosta De Lago.

Tulip, in recent times has left a yearling filly named Daeseya (Justify {USA}) and was served by Switzerland last September.

Cybersecurity was purchased for $380,000 by Lindsay Park Racing and Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock (BAFNZ) from the Coolmore Stud draft at the 2025 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale

Winsilence (NZ), 3-year-old gelding (Ghaiyyath (Ire) x Darci Brahma (NZ) {O’Reilly {NZ}})

The promising 3-year-old Winsilence (NZ) (Ghaiyyath {Ire}) is chasing victory at his second start at Sale on Thursday.

He made his debut when running fifth at Pakenham last November for the Hayes stable, he has since changed stable to Trevor Rogers at Cranbourne and has ran two placings at the jump-outs on his new home track in preparation for his resuming run.

Winsilence comes from a very strong extended family. He is the first foal from Ninkasi (NZ) (Darci Brahma {NZ}), an unplaced half sister to the Group 1 winning 2-year-old Sacred Elixir (NZ) (Pour Moi {Ire}), and the five-time winner and Listed placed Waimarie (Snitzel). This is also the family of the recent Kiwifruit Cup winner Tenfoot Tall (NZ) (Staphanos {Jpn}).

Winsilence’s fourth dam is Horlicks (NZ) (Three Legs {GB}), who was a 17-time winner and she won five Group 1 races across New Zealand and Australia and she also won the Japan Cup.

In recent years, Ninkasi has produced a 2-year-old gelding named Sumerian (NZ) (Armory {Ire}), and is due to foal to Profondo this spring.

Winsilence was purchased for $275,000 by X Bloodstock from the Wentwood Grange draft at the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Looking Back:

Farfetched (Farnan) - Battled on okay for fourth at Canterbury.

Sanctum (Stay Inside) - Was very disappointing running seventh at Canterbury.

Horologist (Written Tycoon) - Ran a strong finishing third at Canterbury, it was a tidy effort.
