“Blueblood Thoroughbreds picked up Everybody Rise for only $75,000. He has been great for the stable, we gave him a break straight away after purchasing him, and after that break he has won five in a row.
“He started off with two modest wins on the Polytrack at the Sunshine Coast but he has built up his confidence and won a Saturday race at Eagle Farm on Saturday. He is a happy horse and has done it himself.
“I think we will keep looking to pick off these off-season type races, pick up some more success and go from there.”
Thunderlips, 6-year-old gelding (Zoustar x Shapita {Foxwedge})

“We have just got Thunderlips from the Bjorn Baker stable and I think he is exciting. Half of the old ownership group are staying in him and we will have some new owners joining.
“He's got a good high rating, he's a solid Saturday performer in Sydney, he's been stakes-placed earlier this year in the Carrington Stakes and he's got a good on-speed racing style that should suit Brisbane.
“So he ticks a lot of boxes, and once again this off-season period is his time to shine and who knows, he might just be a chance at getting into a Listed race over the summer carnival, in the same way that he did that in Sydney with races like the Carrington.
“He’s always been a talented horse, and he possibly got a little bit top in the ratings at Sydney, but for Brisbane he looks perfect.
“I can't wait to get him up and running, he's only just arrived in Queensland, so he's a fresh acquisition and hopefully he can work out well for us.”
Missile One, 6-year-old mare (Smart Missile x Better Be The One {More Than Ready {USA}})

“Missile One has won four races, which is great, she wasn't an expensive horse. Grand Syndicate’s purchased her at the Gold Coast and we have had a lot of fun with her.
“She has won just over $140,000, which has been a great return from the $36,000 she was purchased for. Grand Syndicates does a great job at getting groups of owners to be able to enjoy the sport at an affordable level, and she is a poster girl for that sort of thing.
“She’s got a good racing style and has found a little niche over the short course.”
Razors, 6-year-old gelding (Sidestep x Lobola {Anabaa {USA}})

“Razors was great first up, he had a long break, and he's really appreciated that as he's come back in good nick. He is a talented horse on his day and I’m thinking we'll have a little bit of fun with him over the next couple of months.
“He's ready to race right through until Christmas, I would have thought. So hopefully his form can hold up, and if his first up run is anything can go by, we're in for a good preparation.”
4-year-olds
Mimi's, 4-year-old mare (Extreme Choice x Sultry Feeling {Encosta De Lago)

“Mimi’s is going to race on for another season at this stage, so that is good news for the stable and I'm feeling pretty privileged about being entrusted with her for another season for Lime Country and partners. Hopefully we can now build up her value.
“She broke her maiden in impressive fashion, which was really good to see. She will most likely head towards a Saturday race at the end of the month.
“She's got the right attributes to be successful in Brisbane, she showed good tactical speed in putting them away in her maiden and hopefully she can build on that.”
Grinzinger Champ, 4-year-old mare (Wootton Bassett (GB) x Vinay {Fastnet Rock})

“Grinzinger Champ has won her last three races at Doomben in Saturday grade, her ratings were of the standard that would fit a Saturday-grade horse in Brisbane and so it has proved.
“She was identified by Jim Clarke, my bloodstock agent, and he gave me a good push to buy her, and he was able to do that for me, and she's just continued to improve.
“I had a good chat with her old trainer Danny O’Brien and he said she would be much better after a break, so we did that and it has paid off.
“She'll continue to pick off as many modest races I can find in Brisbane in the off-season, we'll just keep trying to place her to best effect.
"I'm hopeful that in time, probably with another spell under her belt, that she could measure up to something a little better.”
Highgrove Rose, 4-year-old mare (King's Legacy x Chintz (NZ) {Savabeel})

“Highgrove Rose was super in the Queensland Oaks running seventh after coming from a long way back.”
“We have the luxury of being able to place her modestly as we head towards potentially the Magic Millions Stayers (Subzero) Cup.
“She's not rated too high. We can likely step her up in those low-end races as stepping stones, she's probably still eligible for midweek races. Hopefully we can then go from midweek grade to benchmark Saturday races, and from there if all is going well, we can look at maybe the Shootout as a lead-in to the Magic Millions Stayers.

“Don'tcha Luv'er was only narrowly beaten on Sunday, from a punting point of view I think she is one to keep an eye out for. She is going well.”
3-year-olds

“Girmay is going great. I ran into him in the Spirit of Boom Classic as a 2-year-old, and he ran great, he just got collared late, and he sort of kicked to win the race, but got run over late.
“He's had a good big break, and my goal with him is to get him to the Magic Millions 3-year-old. I think 1400 metres would suit him, but he's still a maiden, so we've got plenty of work to do.
"But he's nice, he showed nice natural ability as a 2-year-old, and if he can carry that form through this 3-year-old year, I would have thought it's not out of the realm of possibility that he makes the race to the Magic Millions 3-year-old.”

Purchased by Champion Thoroughbreds and Jack Bruce Racing for $85,000 from the Torryburn Stud draft at the 2025 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
“Inner Peace is coming along really well, she is a well-bred unraced filly by Hellbent, she is very athletic and Hellbent is on fire with his fillies, so she's always been one I have had a soft spot for.
“She is only starting to warm up a little now, but I like her.”

“I bought a lovely Zoustar filly in January at the Magic Millions. She has done a little bit of work but she is full of quality, is by Zoustar and has a great page.
“She's a very exciting proposition for the current season of the babies.”

“I purchased a So You Think colt from Karaka in partnership with Import Racing, and he's just a beautiful type, a good, strong So You Think, and I must say I'm taken by his athleticism at this early stage.
“For me to be training Zoustar’s and So You Think’s is part of a bigger picture on where I want my stable in the long run, and when I get out of bed every day and look at those heads in the box it fills me with excitement for what the future holds.”
