Roja Caliente, 3-year-old filly (Home Affairs x Pedrena {Mossman})
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Roja Caliente (Home Affairs) makes her debut on the Ballarat Synthetic on Tuesday afternoon over 1000 metres.
The well-bred filly has had three jump-outs and has run second in all of them and looks well-educated ahead of her debut assignment.
Roja Caliente is the second live foal out of the smart dual Group 3-winning mare Pedrena (Mossman) who comes from a strong American family full of black-type performers.

There are some strong international pedigree influences throughout her pedigree including influential stallions such as Danehill (USA), Awesome Again (Can), Raise A Native (USA) and Success Express (USA).
Pedrena in recent times has left a Home Affairs 2-year-old colt and is due to foal to Shinzo next month.
Roja Caliente was purchased for $200,000 by McEvoy Mitchell Racing and Belmont Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Coolmore Stud draft at the 2025 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Satoshi, 3-year-old gelding (Wootton Bassett (GB) x My Sabeel (NZ) {Savabeel})
The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Satoshi (Wootton Bassett {GB}) makes his second start on the Ballarat Synthetic on Thursday. He only had one run back in March where he disappointed running 10th.
Since then he has had a break and a couple of jump-outs to prepare himself for his resuming run.

Satoshi was bred and is raced by Dorrington Farm with partners, and is the seventh foal out of the smart Savabeel mare My Sabeel (NZ), she was the winner of the G3 Toy Show Handicap on the track among her six wins.
At stud she has left four winners including the Group-placed duo of National Choice (Snitzel) and Moonlight Circus (Trapeze Artist).
In recent years, My Sabeel, has produced an Alabama Express yearling foal, and she is due to foal to Rosemont Stud’s new shuttle stallion Henry Longfellow (Ire) in October.
