It’s all about the shuttle stallions on Saturday as a promising Too Darn Hot (GB) filly makes her debut at Ellerslie, while 3-year-olds by Palace Pier (GB) and Pinatubo (Ire) chase Group success in Australia.

Shore Breeze, 3-year-old filly (Too Darn Hot (GB) x Onetangi {Exceed And Excel})
The Jomara Bloodstock bred and raced Shore Breeze (Too Darn Hot {GB}) makes her debut at Ellerslie over 1200 metres on Saturday for trainers Roger James and Robert Wellwood.
The well-bred filly has looked handy at the trials, winning at Avondale as a 2-year-old last December, and then running second on the Cambridge Synthetic earlier this month over 950 metres.
Too Darn Hot (GB) | Standing at Darley
Shore Breeze is the last foal out of the Exceed And Excel mare Onetangi, who herself is out of the dual South African Group 1 winner Mythical Play (NZ) (Defensive Play {USA}).
This is also the family of the talented stakes-placed 2-year-olds Pageantry (I Am Invincible), And There You Go (Hellbent) and Heavenly Waters (Headwater).
Jomara Bloodstock also bred and raced Shore Breeze’s half-sister Oneroa (Shooting To Win) who was a three-time winner on the track and she at stud has left an Ardrossan yearling filly and is due to foal to the exciting Paddington (GB) this spring.

Global Goal, 3-year-old filly (Pinatubo (Ire) x Tides {Fastnet Rock})
The John Sargent-trained 3-year-old filly Global Goal (Pinatubo {Ire}) chases Group 2 glory at Randwick on Saturday in the hands of Dylan Gibbons.
She was an impressive winner on debut at Wagga back in May, and after having a break, she ran a fast-finishing third in the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes behind Pembrey (Prague), since then she has won a trial in impressive fashion and wears winkers for the first time on Saturday.
The beautifully bred filly is by Pinatubo (Ire) and is the fourth foal from the Fastnet Rock mare Tides, who was a three-time winner on the track.

Tides is a full sister to the three-time Group 1 winner Shoals (Fastnet Rock) and the Listed-winning gelding Groundswell (Fastnet Rock). This is also the family of the Champion Redoute’s Choice.
Tides, in recent times, has left a 2-year-old Maurice (Jpn) filly named Wakefield, a yearling filly by Castelvecchio, and is due to foal to Too Darn Hot (GB) in early October.
Global Goal, was purchased for $250,000 by Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock (BAFNZ) from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the 2025 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Wolf Gap, 3-year-old colt (Palace Pier (GB) x Bandol {Snitzel})
The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Wolf Gap (Palace Pier {GB}) chases the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude at Caulfield on Saturday.
He was a very impressive winner on debut at Randwick back in mid-February, and then he ran a very solid third in the G2 Todman Stakes behind Paradoxium (Extreme Choice) and Stretan Ruler (Wild Ruler) to finish his juvenile campaign.
He resumed earlier this month with a very strong finishing second behind race-rival Blind Raise (NZ) (Ace High), and with natural improvement and a step up in distance, he looks hard to beat in this event.

Wolf Gap is the fourth foal, and one of four winners out of the winning Snitzel mare Bandol. The best of her progeny to date outside of Wolf Gap, has been the talented winner Katsumi Orochi (Maurice), who was Group 3-placed as a juvenile.
Wolf Gap’s second dam Miss Match (Arg) (Indygo Shiner {USA}) was a dual Group 1 winner in America and Argentina.
In recent seasons, Bandol has produced a 2-year-old Maurice (Jpn) colt and produced a Vandeek (GB) colt late last month.
Wolf Gap was purchased by Anthony Freedman Racing, Julian Blaxland Bloodstock (FBAA), ARJB Racing and De Burgh Equine for $280,000 from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Satin Serenade (Frankel {GB}) - Ran a close-up third at Newcastle while Waiheke Rose (NZ) (Noverre {NZ}) was a touch disappointing running fifth in the same race.
