Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Two promising types by Street Boss (USA) and Snitzel chase maiden success at Swan Hill on Tuesday.
Bet365 Swan Hill, Race 2, 2pm, AEST, Jarrod Arentz Electrical & Solar Solutions 3YO Maiden Plate, $32,000, 1200m
Quarter Mile, 3-year-old colt (Street Boss (USA) x Go Straightandhard {Medaglia D’Oro {USA}})
The Ben, Will and JD Hayes-trained Quarter Mile (Street Boss {USA}) resumes at Swan Hill on Tuesday over 1200 metres.
Quarter Mile made his debut back in March when he disappointed running sixth at Ballarat behind Harry Met Sally (Yes Yes Yes), but since then he has had a break and has looked good at the Pakenham jump-outs so should be a good chance fresh-up.

Quarter Mile is out of the two-time winner Go Straightandhard (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}) who is a half-sister to the Listed Adelaide Guineas winner So We Are (So You Think {NZ}), who is the dam of the promising Southend (Palace Pier {GB}) who won the G3 Baillieu Handicap as a 2-year-old last season.
This is also the family of the promising young stallion Peltzer, who was successful at both Group 2 and Group 3 level on the track.
Go Straightandhard in recent times has left a 2-year-old and yearling colts by Dundeel (NZ) and unfortunately missed to Traffic Warden last spring.

Fully Funded, 4-year-old mare (Snitzel x Bright Path (Jpn) {Lord Kanaloa {USA}})
The Mark Walker-trained 4-year-old Snitzel mare Fully Funded chases maiden success at Swan Hill on Tuesday afternoon. She has placed in three of her four career starts, including a strong finishing third at Echuca late last month, so is very much deserving of a first career victory.
Fully Funded is out of the dual-winning Lord Kanaloa (Jpn) mare Bright Path (Jpn), who is a half-sister to the Group 2 and Group 3-winner Jeune Ecole (Jpn) (Kurofune {Jpn}) and to the dam of the dual Group-1 winner Songline (Jpn) ((Kizuna {Jpn}).

This is also the extended family of the outstanding Deirdre (Jpn) (Harbinger {GB}) who was successful in the G1 Nassau Stakes at Goodwood in Great Britain and in the G1 Kyoto Shuka Sho in Japan.
Bright Path in recent times has left a 3-year-old filly named Umoyawokubambelela (The Autumn Sun) who has been a winner over 1200 metres in South Africa, a yearling colt by Admire Mars (Jpn) and is due to foal to The Autumn Sun next month.
Fully Funded was purchased for $150,000 by D C Ellis CNZM (BANZ) from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
