Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Southside's night meeting at Cranbourne plays host to an intriguing pair looking to strike. A Lindsay Park trainee kicks off in the opener, and a Stay Inside filly jumps for the first time in the second event.

Sihaya (NZ), 4-year-old mare (Per Incanto (USA) x Isstoora {High Chaparral {Ire}})
The Hayes boys have been patient with Sihaya (NZ) (Per Incanto {USA}) and she was pretty sharp to win her latest jump-out on September 18 ahead of her debut. She has only needed the two official jump-outs to get ready to run, and she draws in the middle of the field to get herself off to strong start.
Bred and owned by the Mahoenui Partnership, Sihaya's pedigree gives a good idea why connections have been happy to be patient. She is a full sister to G2 Rubiton Stakes winner Oak Hill (NZ) and Listed Redoute's Choice Stakes placegetter Oak Lightning (NZ), which makes her a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Desert Lightning (NZ) (Pride Of Dubai).

Dam Isstoora (High Chaparral {Ire}) might be unraced, but she is a descendant of prolific producer Twyla (Danehill {USA}) via G3 SAJC Breeders' Stakes winner Murjana (Giant's Causeway {USA}).
This family has also turned out the likes of G1 Queensland Oaks winner You Wahng (So You Think {NZ}) and her stakes-winning full sister Street Gossip, G1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes winner Idle Flyer (Dundeel {NZ}), two-time G1 All Star Mile winner Tom Kitten (Harry Angel {Ire}), and four-time Group 1 winner In Italian (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}).
Isstoora has a yearling filly by Per Incanto (USA) still to come, and - understandably - returned to the stallion last spring.

Miss Home Body, 3-year-old filly (Stay Inside x Sheiswhatsheis {Bernardini {USA}})
Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman have given Miss Home Body (Stay Inside) three jump-outs ahead of her debut, and while she didn't win the most recent one, they wouldn't be sending her to Southside if she didn't have a shot. Luke Nolen gets on board the 3-year-old for raceday, having ridden her in two jump-outs to date.
From the first crop of G1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner Stay Inside, Miss Home Body is the fourth foal out of Sheiswhatsheis (Bernardini {USA}), whose eight wins include one at Listed level plus several Group and Listed placings.

From the female line that produced Rose Of Kingston (Claude {Ity}), this family has produced a lot of speedy horses on both sides of the Tasman, with a recent addition being Kiwi multiple Group performer Harvey Wallbanger (NZ) (Home Affairs).
Dalziel Bloodstock and Moody Racing paid $210,000 for Miss Home Body at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, where she was offered by Segenhoe Stud.
Sheiswhatsheis delivered a colt by Officiating (USA) last spring, before unfortunately missing to Stronger.
