Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Two lovely 3-year-old fillies by Pierro and Bivouac chase maiden success at Mornington on Sunday.

Adakite, 3-year-old filly (Pierro x El Estoora (NZ) {High Chaparral{Ire}})

The Shane Nichols and Hayden Black-trained Adakite (Pierro) chases maiden success on her home track on Sunday.

The consistent filly deserves a winning turn, having placed in four of her six career starts, including a strong finishing second at Bendigo last time out behind Quynh (I Am Immortal) over the same distance.

Adakite is out of the placed High Chaparral (Ire) mare El Estoora (NZ). She comes from one of the best families in the studbook, with her fifth dam being the influential Eight Carat (GB) (Pieces Of Eight {Ire}).

Some of the Group 1 winners that feature in the family are Tristalove (NZ) (Sir Tristram {Ire}), Viking Ruler, Kempinsky and Feroce (NZ) (Super Seth).

El Estoora in recent times has left a yearling filly by Snitzel and foaled a Harry Angel (Ire) colt in late September.

Adakite was purchased for $130,000 by Shane Nichols Racing from the Segenhoe Stud draft at the 2025 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Mornington, Race 2, 1.40pm AEDT, Barmah Park Restaurant & Cellar Door 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate, $42,500, 1200m

Oceans Blue, 3-year-old filly (Bivouac x Radharcnafarraige (Ire) {Distorted Humor {USA}})

The Danny O'Brien trained Oceans Blue (Bivouac) chases maiden success over 1200 metres on Sunday at Mornington.

She has placed in both of her career starts and she looks a good chance here in the hands of Damian Lane from a midfield barrier.

Oceans Blue is out of the Distorted Humor (USA) mare Radharcnafarraige (Ire) who won two Group 3 races in Ireland. She has left five individual winners at stud.

Radharcnafarraige is a half-sister to the Listed winner Alienated (USA) (Gone West {USA}) who herself has left the Listed winner and Grade 1-placed stallion Rally Cry (USA).

Radharcnafarraige in recent times has left a yearling filly by Russian Revolution and is due to foal to Lauda Sion (Jpn) any day now.

Oceans Blue was purchased for $260,000 by RMA Bloodstock and Satomi Oka Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Segenhoe Stud at the 2025 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Looking Back

St Gotthard (Snitzel) - Ran a very good second in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Stylish (NZ) (Sword Of State) - Ran a brave second behind a good one, a maiden win is close

Landing Gear (Maurice {Jpn}) - Ran sixth at Newcastle, it was an honest enough effort.
