In this new series, we take a look at Australasian-bred horses down to make their initial starts in Hong Kong, horses either unraced (PPG-privately purchased griffins) or previously raced in Australia and New Zealand (PP-private purchases).
The horses listed below have been selected based on notable pedigrees and/or sales history. The series begins with a look at four horses debuting on Saturday afternoon at Sha Tin:

(g, 4-year-old, Written Tycoon x Shabtis, by Elusive Quality {USA})
A half-brother to G3 Champagne S. winner Take Pride (Reward For Effort), out of a winning half-sister to Mummify (Jeune {GB}), a four-times Group 1 winner at home and victorious in the G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup overseas.
A AU$530,000 purchase by the HKJC from the Milburn Creek consignment at Inglis Easter sale in 2017, he was resold for HK$5.7million (AU$1.025 million) at the Hong Kong International Sale last March. Glorious Buddy was second in a September 10th trial up the 1000 metre straight course. B-Eldon Park Stud (Vic).

Wonder Win
(g, 4-year-old, Pierro x Nataya Rose, by Canny Lad)
By the sire of last year’s HK Derby hero Furore (NZ), was produced by a half-sister to the stakes-placed Gold Anthem (Made of Gold {USA}), the dam of Australian and European champion sprinter Starspangledbanner (Choisir), a dual Group 1 winner in Australia and in England.
From the family of champions Elvstroem (Danehill), Haradasun (Fusaichi Pegasus {USA}) and 2 time Group 1 Hong Kong Vase hero Highland Reel (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), Wonder Win was a AU$400,000 purchase by the HKJC from Holbrook Thoroughbreds at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale in 2017 and fetched HK$5.2 million (AU$935,000) at the aforementioned HKIS. Party Everyday
(g, 4-year-old, Snitzel x Scarlett Lady (NZ), by Savabeel)
Is the latest to make the races from his dam, winner of the 2011 G1 Queensland Oaks and the 2012 G1 New Zealand S. for James McDonald and Graeme and Debbie Rogerson.
The Kitchwin Hills-consignee attracted a final bid of AU$870,000 from representatives of the Jockey Club at Easter in 2017 and he was one of two horses that shared the top price of HK$7 million (AU$1.259 million) at the HK International Sale six months ago.
Party Everyday was fourth, one spot behind Jazz Steed (Exceed And Excel) (see below) in a 1200 metre all-weather trial Sept. 6. B-NJR Werrett & Whitby Bloodstock (NSW).

(g, 4-year-old, Exceed And Excel x Emotional Circus, by Elusive Quality {USA})
Completes this quartet of HKIS graduates, having been purchased at that event for HK$5.5 million (AU$989,000) after being scooped up by the HKJC for AU$420,000 from the Highgrove Stud draft at the Inglis Easter sale in 2017.
The gelding’s dam, Group 2-placed in Australia, is a daughter of the multiple stakes-placed Cirque Du Soleil, an own sister to the outstanding dual-hemisphere stallion Fastnet Rock (Danehill). B-Highgrove Stud, Highgrove Stud, Mr R T Gilbert (QLD).
