Toryjoy top prospect

Listed Belle Of The Turf S., $170,000, 1600m

Toryjoy (Street Cry {Ire}) trialled well earlier this month before she kicked off her summer preparation and she did so in style at Rosehill where she led all the way to win over 1400 metres.

The 5-year-old will certainly strip fitter for that outing and if she gets an uncontested lead she will prove tough to run down.

Aqua d’Ivina (Pierro) won with authority at Kembla Grange before the G2 Villiers S. which proved a step too far. However, she was only 4l off the winner and this is a major drop back in class.

Tinkermosa (NZ) (Alamosa {NZ}) has been freshened and did trial well at Randwick recently while Whiskey Shooter (Sebring) beat Elusive Nature (Sepoy) at their last meeting, although the weight scale favours the latter this time around.

Elusive Nature’s stablemate Saas Fee (All Too Hard) is an interesting runner with the filly taking on stakes company at her fourth start. She has made a bright start to her career with a win and three placings from four appearances and trainer Gerald Ryan obviously has confidence in the 3-year-old’s ability to measure up.

Colt to go close again

Listed Under The Southern Stars Gosford Guineas, $150,000, 1200m

Big Parade (Deep Field) is a smart colt who won first time out last season for trainer Clare Cunningham before he ventured to Queensland and finished runner-up in the Listed Winning Edge S.

He was then given a break and resumed in fine style on this course by leading all the way to beat older opposition. He’s sure to be all the better for that outing and given a touch of luck from an awkward gate can continue on his winning way.

Exhilarates (Snitzel) met and matched the best of her age group as a 2-year-old and this term posted multiple stakes wins before a spell. She is coming in fresh and has had the benefit of a recent trial.

Splintex (Snitzel) will be all the better for his resuming run at Randwick where he finished third in a competitive line-up, while Hightail (Written Tycoon) made solid ground last time to finish second to the highly-regarded Diamond Thunder (Dawn Approach {Ire}) and on that effort will be competitive again.

Discharged (Snitzel) was fourth in that race and had previously been a comfortable winner at Canterbury, and Fituese (Deep Field) has looked good coming through the grades and might offer some value in this line-up.
