Race summary :

Travelling Light (NZ) (El Roca) was back to winning ways after suffering her first defeat when third in the G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas.

The filly settled behind the leaders and when clear she strode to the front 200 metres from home for rider Jason Waddell.

Travelling Light stuck on grimly to hold off the late runs of Harlech (NZ) (Darci Brahma {NZ}) and Hasstobegood (NZ) (Per Incanto {USA}).

Travelling Light was bred by owner Col MacRury, who also raced the 3-year-old’s dam Cissy Bowen (NZ) (Colombia {NZ}).

Well-bred mare The Precious One (NZ) (Darci Brahma {NZ}) added to her record with a dominant winning display.

The 5-year-old jumped well to take up a prominent spot near the pace and she finished off too well for her rivals.

Raise You Ten (NZ) (Raise The Flag {USA}) got home well for second and Sensei (Dream Ahead {USA}) did well for third. He finished strongly on an unsuitably rain-affected track.

She sat three wide with cover and was cruising at the top of the straight and when asked for a serious effort she scooted clear.

Too Illicit (NZ) (Jimmy Choux {NZ}) made ground strongly to taker second ahead of Showoroses (NZ) (Showcasing {GB}). She rallied bravely after making the running.

Pretty To Sea (NZ) (Ocean Park {NZ}) was able to capitalise on a strong pace after getting back in the running. The mare was pulled to the outside and she finished at a rate of knots to set up a tilt at the G1 Railway S.

The favourite Avantage (Fastnet Rock) was resuming and did well to get second from a tricky gate and Speedy Meady (NZ) (Swiss Ace) boxed on well for third after enjoying a good run.

Fiscal Fantasy (Skilled) finished powerfully near the fence for second and Beauden (NZ) (Bullbars) came from the tail of the field for third.

Luvaluva (NZ) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) showed her appreciation of a return to a middle distance with a decisive victory.

Rider Koby Jennings bided his time in midfield before picking up ground across the top and the mare put a winning break on field 250 metres from home.

Black On Gold (Sebring) made ground fairly for second with Taikomochi (Snitzel). He did well after working overtime to get to the front.

Mystiko (NZ) (Sakhee’s Secret {GB}) picked up place cheque for the fourth consecutive time and Crystal Dreamer (Stratum) fought on for third after leading 200 metres out.
