Lonhro x Okaho Bay (colt)
Lot 117 - Inglis Easter Yearling Sale
TDN AusNZ: How did you decide on this particular mating?
Brent Taylor, Trelawney Stud: "We have a number of young mares based in Australia for their first couple of foals and the use of proven sires is a key driver to our mating selection. Lonhro has had success with Redoute's Choice-line mares with the likes of Exosphere and Bounding. Again, the physical cross has worked particularly well resulting this outstanding colt."
TDN AusNZ: What was the foaling down like and initial comments on the foal?
Brent Taylor, Trelawney Stud: "He was always a very forward, bold natured colt that rated himself."
Watch: Lonhro x Okaho Bay as a foal
TDN AusNZ: What was the horse like as a weanling?
Brent Taylor, Trelawney Stud: "He continued to grow into a nice colt from weanling right through the winter and made the transition to yearling with balance and style."
TDN AusNZ: How is the horse handling prep so far? Does it have a nickname? Particular traits/personality?
Brent Taylor, Trelawney Stud: "Like a lot of colts he really thrived in the prep, he loved the individual attention like most blokes, he's a bit of a lad and rates himself, but a neat horse to work with."
