Ballylinch roster topped by Lope De Vega
Lope De Vega (Ire), who has enjoyed a stellar year with his progeny on the track, has seen his fee increased to €125,000 (AU$202,320) from €100,000 (AU$161,805) at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland.
In 2020, the sire of 77 black-type winners total, has enjoyed four Group 1 winners, including juveniles Lucky Vega (Ire) in the G1 Phoenix S. and Aunt Pearl (Ire) in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
Previous Grade I winner Newspaperofrecord (Ire) scored in the G1 Just a Game S. Stakeside and Gytrash saluted in the G1 Lightning S. Overall, there have been 18 black-type winners by the Ballylinch resident in 2020, 12 at Group or Graded level.
Freshman sire New Bay's (GB) fee has been set at €20,000 (AU$32,361). The 8-year-old is already on the black-type board with Group winners New Mandate (Ire) and Saffron Beach (Ire), while two other first-crop juveniles have placed at Listed level.
G1 Prix du Jockey Club hero Mishriff (Ire) was the star performer for Make Believe (GB), whose eldest foals are sophomores. Mishriff was supported by Group 3 winners Rose Of Kildare (Ire) and Believe In Love (Ire), as well as a brace of additional Group-placed 3-year-olds. His fee is €15,000 (AU$24,270).
Rounding out the roster is first-season sire and Group 1 winner Fascinating Rock (Ire) at €5000 (AU$8090). From just 16 runners so far in 2020, he has sired three winners and it is notable he did his best running as a four and 5-year-old.

Arc hero Waldgeist’s (GB) first foals will soon be at the breeding stock sales. He covered 117 mares in his first season with 63 stakes performers or producers in the book and will stand for €17,500 (AU$28,315).
Juddmonte reveals 2021 Fees
The five-strong Juddmonte 2021 stallion roster, led by Frankel (GB) - the youngest stallion to sire 40 Group winners in history, was announced on Tuesday. The Juddmonte wonderkid is siring 11 per cent Group winners to runners and 15 per cent black-type winners to runners, and he will stand for £175,000 (AU$318,006) in 2021.
Although his oldest foals are only four, Kingman (GB) has already sired two Classic winners, striking with Fearless King (GB) in the G2 German 2000 Guineas this season, one of 14 black-type winners this term. He was also represented by Group 1 milers Persian King (Ire) and Palace Pier (GB). The 9-year-old sired a trio of seven-figure yearlings, with a 2.7 million gns (AU$5,386,500) colt, a 1.45 million gns (AU$2,892,750) filly and a €1.1 million (AU$1,780,284) colt. His stud fee is unchanged at £150,000 (AU$272,576).
Roster veteran Oasis Dream (GB) reached several important milestones in 2020, siring his 200th black-type performer in the juvenile colt Erasmo (GB), while his fillies have produced over 100 black-type performers including G1 Irish 2000 Guineas winner Siskin (USA) (First Defence {USA}), G1 Melbourne Cup winner Twilight Payment (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), G1 Cox Plate winner Sir Dragonet (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) and Group 1 winner Tawkeel (GB) (Teofilo {Ire}). Oasis Dream will stand for £20,000 (AU$36,343) and boasts 10 per cent black-type winners to runners.
Consistent sire Bated Breath (GB) has accumulated 18 black-type performers and four Group winners in 2020, including French Group winners Cairn Gorm (GB) and Makaloun (Fr) with the latter also Group 1-placed. He will stand for £12,500 (AU$22,714).
Charm Spirit on the move to France
Charm Spirit (Ire) will stand at Haras du Logis Saint-Germain in France next year, Jour de Galop reported on Tuesday. Previously a resident of Tweenhills Farm and Stud, his fee will be €7000 (AU$11,325).
Also a shuttle stallion to Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand, the 9-year-old has sired nine black-type winners, seven at Group level worldwide. He joins French Fifteen (Fr) at the French nursery, who will command €5000 (AU$8089).

Maximum Security to stand for US$20,000
Eclipse Champion Maximum Security (USA) has been retired from racing and will stand as Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Central Kentucky for the 2021 breeding season. His fee will be US$20,000 (AU$27,360).
“Maximum Security was an exceptional racehorse and I have no doubt that he will prove very popular with breeders once they see him,” said Ashford’s Director of Sales Charlie O’Connor. “He’s an extremely impressive-looking individual.”
Darley Announces 2021 European Roster
The Darley Europe roster, featuring new stallions Ghaiyyath (Ire), Pinatubo (Ire) and Earthlight (Ire) has been announced. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, most fees have been reduced, some by 25 per cent or more.
Leading the overall roster is veteran Dubawi (Ire) who will stand for £250,000 (AU$453,912) at Dalham Hall Stud.
Outstanding juvenile Pinatubo’s fee is £35,000 (AU$63,547) at Dalham Hall. Rated the best juvenile in Europe in the past 25 years, the 2019 English/Irish highweight’s undefeated 2-year-old season included victories in the G1 National S., and G1 Dewhurst S. At three, he added the G1 Prix Jean Prat, ran second in the G1 Prix du Moulin and G1 St. James’s Palace S.
Pinatubo (Ire) | Standing at Darley Europe
The aforementioned Ghaiyyath is priced at €30,000 (AU$54,469) at Kildangan Stud in Ireland. French champion juvenile Earthlight will also hold court at Kildangan for €20,000 (AU$36,313).

Cheveley Park unveils 2021 roster
Led again by champion sire Pivotal (GB), Cheveley Park announced their 2021 stallion roster on Monday. Sire of two Group 1 winners among his quintet of black-type winners this term, the 27-year-old Pivotal will again stand for a private fee in 2021. As a broodmare sire, he is responsible for 14 black-type winners, four at Group 1 level, just this year. Dutch Art (GB) will also again be at a private fee for 2021.
Studs around the world are reducing fees due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Cheveley Park is no exception. The Newmarket stud’s Group 1 winner Ulysses (Ire), who has his first runners next year, will stand at a lowered price of £10,000 (AU$16,170).
Twilight Son (GB), ranked among the top 10 European first-crop sires, is reduced to £5000 (AU$8085) and Mayson (GB), sire of this season’s G1 July Cup winner Oxted (GB), will stand for £4000 (AU$6468). Unfortunately (Ire), who stands at Springfield House Stud in Ireland for a Cheveley Park and Springfield House partnership, is priced at is €4500 (AU$7276).
“In what are undoubtedly unprecedented times, and in light of recent sales returns, we feel a significant reduction in all our stallions' fees is fair and necessary, in order to help valued clients and breeders alike during this financially turbulent period,” said Cheveley Park’s Managing Director Chris Richardson. “The roster offers outstanding value and quality.”
