The richly related Gimmie Par (Not A Single Doubt) has earned herself a trip to Queensland, but whether it be for business or pleasure has yet to be decided.
The blue-blooded filly finished runner-up on debut in the Listed Redoute’s Choice S. and at Caulfield on Saturday went one better in the Wilde Racing H. to have trainer Peter Moody thinking of the Sunshine State.
“She could have one more run in the G2 Sires’ Produce S., but we’ll let her take us along and she’ll go to Queensland either for a race or a holiday. She will determine that, depending how she does in the next couple of weeks,” he said.
“She’s only a little girl and will get a bit stronger. I’m not sure how far her physique will take her, but she’s got plenty of ability. Is she going to be big enough and strong enough, that’s probably the biggest question mark.”

Gimmie Par was trapped three wide in the running, but rider Luke Nolen had her in a good rhythm and they took control early in the run home and withstood the late charge of the debutante Spinning (Pierro).
While the winning margin was only 0.1l, Moody believed the filly was never in danger of defeat.
“She probably just got a little bit lost after hitting the front at the top of the straight. She didn’t really know how to knuckle down and we saw that at Flemington. It took her until the 50 metres to flatten out.
“She’ll take good benefit out of this and as soon as the other horse levelled up, she found again so no worries.”
Confidence justified
Gimmie Par’s lead-up work had Moody in a confident pre-race mood and didn’t give Nolen any instructions.
“He’s had a bit of practice now. She’s a very good filly and her work had been pleasing,” he said.
Gimmie Par is raced by breeder Rick Jamieson, of Gilgai Farm, and is a half-sister to the dual Group 1 winner Ole Kirk who is now resident at Vinery Stud.
They are out of Naturale (Bel Esprit), an unraced sister to the unbeaten Champion mare and three-time Australian Horse of the Year Black Caviar and a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner and sire All Too Hard.
