G3 BJ McLachlan S., $250,000, 1200m

Exciting filly Coolangatta (Written Tycoon) remained undefeated after this soft victory, her second at stakes level after her runaway debut victory in the G3 Gimcrack S. in early October.

A well named daughter of the lightly raced Piping Hot (More Than Ready {USA}) who won two of her four starts, Coolangatta was bred by Highclere Stud Australia and sold to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock for $280,000 at this year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

One of the 44 stakes winners for Yulong's reigning Australian Champion Sire Written Tycoon (Iglesia), Coolangatta is the second foal and second winner for her dam whose first foal is the promising Snitzonfire (Snitzel) who has won three of his first five starts for the Waterhouse and Bott stable.

Piping Hot - who missed to Written Tycoon's son Capitalist last spring (the previous year producing a filly by Dundeel {NZ}) - is a daughter of the G2 Moonee Valley Oaks winner Ribe (Danehill{USA}) whose son Reaan (Hussonet) won the G1 Blue Diamond S.

Coolangatta is bred on the same Written Tycoon/More Than Ready cross as the Group 1 filly Luna Rossa.

Listed Bernborough Plate, $200,000, 1600m

What great form Kubrick (Shooting To Win) has been racing in over the spring and now into the summer and he was tough to the line recording his first win at stakes level.

The winner of the 2019 Bondi S., the consistent campaigner was already a millionaire winning five of his first 30 starts.

Bred by Two Bays Farm and purchased by Star Thoroughbreds for $250,000 at the 2018 William Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Kubrick is the fifth stakes winner for his Darley based G1 Caulfield Guineas winning sire.

His dam is the lightly raced (placed at Bunbury from just four starts) Alcatraz (Fastnet Rock), daughter of the stakes placed Fortunata (Dr Grace {NZ}) who produced the Listed Laelia S. winner Chic Choice (Redoute's Choice).

Not having much luck at stud over the past couple of seasons, Alcatraz has had only two foals since producing Kubrick - the three-year-old filly Bundle Of Fun (Written Tycoon) who broke her maiden at Pakenham in early November and the yet to race two-year-old Maximum Control (Written Tycoon), a $625,000 member of the Chris Waller stable.

Bred on a 5 X 4 cross of Sir Tristram (Ire) (Sir Ivor {USA}) and duplications of the great mare Somethingroyal (USA) (Princequillo {Ire}) Kubrick can boast amongst his relations the big race winners Fairy King Prawn (Danehill {USA}), Easy Rocking (Barathea {Ire}) and Cosmic Endeavour (Northern Meteor).

Listed Falvelon S., $200,000, 1200m

It was Roheryn (Lonhro) who had his nose in front in a race that drastically changed complexion over the final stages with leader and favourite Zoustyle (Zoustar) tiring over the final half furlong.

Becoming the first horse in this race's short history (it was first run in 2006) to win it twice, Roheryn did a good job recording his eighth win from 24 starts.

A Darley/Godolphin home-bred, Roheryn is one of his wonderful sire's 93 stakes winners. He is the final foal for Mannington (Danehill {USA}) who was one of the better two-year-olds of her year, taking out a G3 Blue Diamond Prelude and the Listed Talindert S.

From just nine starts twice-placed at Group 1 level (third to Road To Success by Dolphin Street {Fr}) in the Blue Diamond S. and third behind Toledo by At Talaq {USA} in the Newmarket H), Mannington has continued the good work at stud with seven of her foals being winners including the G1 VRC Derby hero Benicio (More Than Ready {USA}) and the dual Group winner Romneya (Red Ransom {USA}).

Grandam of the stakes winners Always Allison (More Than Ready {USA}) and Rosa Imperial (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}) and Rosental (GB) (Pivotal {GB}), Mannington is one of the three stakes winners produced by the wonderful mare Bint Marscay (Marscay), G1 Golden Slipper S. winning dam of Sheraton (Woodman {USA}) and Bollinger (Dehere {USA}) - dam of the Group 2 gallopers Villermont (All Too Hard) and Friesan Fire (USA) (A.P Indy {USA}).

This family has enjoyed a good spring with Aim (Star Witness) taking out the Silver Eagle whilst Flying Evelyn (Not A Single Doubt) won the G3 Red Roses at Flemington on Oaks Day.

Bred on a 4 X 4 Sir Tristram (Ire) (Sir Ivor {USA}) cross, Roheryn also boasts multiple strains of the prolific Feola (GB) (Friar Marcus {GB}) via Aureole (GB) (Hyperion {GB}), Prince Bright (USA) (Blue Prince {USA}) and Round Table (USA) (Princequillo {Ire}).
