Equine International Airfreight - Horse Flight Co-ordinator / Sydney

Horse Flight Co-ordinator - Sydney

A unique and varied opportunity exists for a competent administrator/ horse person to join our team in Sydney. The role will involve the administration and preparation of imports and exports of horses to Australia as well as working at the Airport utilising your hands-on horse expertise.

You will also be required to assist at Sydney airport with the safe arrival and departure of horses as well as, if desired, the opportunity to be trained as a flying groom, accompanying horses to various destinations internationally.

The successful candidate needs to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the horse industry with experience both in administration and horse handling and demonstrate a strong commitment to animal welfare for all breeds, sex and temperaments of horses pre, during and post travel.

Being self motivated with attention to detail and a willingness to work as part of a small team is a must and a commensurate salary will be paid to the right person.

MAPPERLEY STUD - Yearling Manager Role

An iconic thoroughbred breeding operation, Mapperley Stud has been in the business of breeding and rearing thoroughbreds for over 50 years. Boasting a rich history, Mapperley is situated on 600 acres of beautiful rolling Waikato country and is committed to continuing their ascent into becoming one of the country’s leading thoroughbred studs.

Mapperley Stud requires a Yearling Manager to join our young and dynamic team. We are seeking a motivated and high-achieving individual who is willing to work closely with the senior management team as we move into an exciting stage of the stud’s development.

The successful applicant will manage all aspects of yearling preparation including, education, fitness of young horses, as well as care of sick and injured horses under veterinary supervision.

The successful applicant will have the below skills;

- Experience handling & working with young thoroughbred horses

- Knowledge & experience preparing yearlings for sales

- Management of the dietary plans for all the yearlings

- Ability to liaise with specialists such as veterinarians and farriers

- Administration and coordination of medication and vaccines

- Ability to assist the foaling team throughout the season

- Excellent organisational and time management skills
