Next week’s Magic Millions Online Sale (September 5-9) will include a 21-lot reduction sale of 3-year-old and 4-year-old geldings from TFI.
The draft features a host of well-bred black-type performers, international winners, metropolitan performers and unraced trial winners. All will be sold unreserved.
“The TFI business model is primarily making stallions,” TFI’s Racing and Breeding Manager, Sally Williams, explained. “Obviously, once horses are gelded, they no longer fit that mould. One of the star attractions is Merchant Prince (Written Tycoon) – a Pakenham maiden winner, who was beaten just 2.45l in the G1 Blue Diamond S. He is a son of Group 2 winner winner Afleet Esprit (Bel Esprit).
Another gelding sure to attract plenty of attention is 3-year-old Nobel (Exceed And Excel), who ran third in a R. Listed race on debut. He is out of the stakes-winning mare Peace Force (Bernardini {USA}), who is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Eremein (Timber Country {USA}) and a half-sister to Listed winner Gliding (Flying Spur).
Group 3 placegetter Flashing Steel (Not A Single Doubt), whose grandam is Group 2 winner Military Rose (General Nediym), is also up for a sale, so too are last-start winners Lammer (NZ) (Swiss Ace), Rekero (Ire) (Fastnet Rock) and Shirvo (Not A Single Doubt).

“There's a selection of unraced and lightly raced geldings with an abundance of racing upside,” Williams added.
“The majority of horses in the upcoming sale have not raced since being gelded, so the buyers are going to reap the full benefit of the improvement to come.
“We are selling all lots with vet reports and full disclosure and encourage as many prospective buyers as possible to come and inspect them at the Magic Millions complex on the Gold Coast, they will not be disappointed.”

Over recent years, tried TFI racehorses including Group 1 winner Lombardo (I Am Invincible), seven-time winner Garibaldi (I Am Invincible) and Group 3 winner Persan (Pierro) have gone on to race with great distinction.
The geldings will be available for inspection at the Magic Millions sales complex from 1pm AEST on September 7 until the close of the sale.
