Farrier role with Godolphin Japan

Godolphin Japan operates breeding and pre-training farms in the Hidaka area of the island of Hokkaido and on the main island of Honshu. Our horses compete primarily on the elite and lucrative Japan Racing Association circuit, with races held every weekend all year round.

We are seeking a farrier with 10 years’ experience in the profession (including apprenticeship). The successful candidate will be skilled in shoeing racehorses as well as the corrective trimming and shoeing of foals and youngstock.

We offer an attractive remuneration package to reflect experience, including accommodation and annual flights.

Blandford Lodge - Assistant To The Farm Manager

Blandford Lodge has established itself as one of the leading boutique breeding studs in New Zealand. Our prestigious brand is well known amongst the top trainers throughout Australasia.

Blandford lodge is located in the flat countryside of Matamata NZ. We have a small but quality band of broodmares of approximately 30 or so mares along with spellers, weanlings, yearlings and racehorses. In amongst these horses we have our much loved retired broodmares.

We are looking for someone to help continue our successful journey with us.

Role requirements

● We see this position for someone who has previous experience in a similar role in this industry and has a dedicated love of horses with a positive attitude and a desire to learn more about this industry.

● A person with an excellent ability to assist our farm manager and someone who has good organisational skills.

● A person who has experience in horse husbandry and feeding practices, working with yearlings, grooming and sales preparation.

● Handling of foals, weanlings, yearlings and racehorses will be part of the job.

● A high level of professional dedication

● Good communication skills & a desire to work as part of the team.
