Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Sunday will see three well-related gallopers make their debuts at Wyong in New South Wales and Moe in Victoria.

Wyong, Race 1, 12.30pm AEST, The Agency 3YO Mdn Plate, $42,000, 1200m

Countyourblessings, 3-year-old filly (I Am Invincible x Bidii Babe {Not A Single Doubt})

Randwick-based trainer John O’Shea will debut a daughter of the dual multiple Champion Sire I Am Invincible, Countyourblessings, at Wyong on Sunday.

The filly is the second foal from the Not A Single Doubt mare Bidii Babe. She won five races including the Listed Bright Shadow H.

Countyourblessings descends from the family of Queen’s Command (Commands) who was imported to South Africa where she won the G3 Flamboyant S. among her six victories.

Furthermore, this is the family of Shazee Lee (Ready’s Image {USA}) a winner of the G3 Hawkesbury Guineas.

Countyourblessings was a $250,000 purchase by John O’Shea Racing from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Wyong, Race 1, 12.30pm AEST, The Agency 3YO Mdn Plate, $42,000, 1200m

Yarraville, 3-year-old filly (Impending x Yarra Bank {Bianconi {USA}})

Anthony Cummings will unveil Yarraville, a daughter of the Darley-based Impending at Wyong on Sunday.

The filly is the fourth foal from the Bianconi (USA) mare Yarra Bank. She was a winner over 1700 metres and is the dam of Kemalpasa (Magnus).

The son of Magnus, Kemalpasa won 13 races to 1300 metres including the G2 TAB S. twice and the G3 Kevin Heffernan S.

Kemalpasa also ran third in the G1 Oakleigh Plate.

Yarraville was a $260,000 purchase by Anthony Cummings Thoroughbreds from the draft of Blue Gum Farm from the 2022 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Moe, Race 1, 12.50pm AEST, Ladbroke It! Mdn Plate, $27,000, 1014m

Grinzinger Ace, 3-year-old gelding (Lonhro x Al Naifa {Redoute’s Choice})

Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Danny O’Brien will debut Grinzinger Ace, a son of Lonhro at Moe on Sunday.

The gelding is the first foal from the Redoute’s Choice mare Al Naifa. She was placed in the Listed Dequetteville S. and is a half-sister to English (Encosta De Lago).

English was crowned the Champion 2- and 3-Year-Old Filly in Australia in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

She won six races including the G1 All Aged S. and the G1 Doomben 10,000. In addition, English was placed in the G1 Golden Slipper and the G1 TJ Smith S.

Grinzinger Ace was a $480,000 purchase by O’Brien Thoroughbreds from the draft of Segenhoe Thoroughbreds at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Looking Back

The best result from Saturday's selections was Koning (Kingman {GB}) who finished second at Kembla Grange, while Siberian Bull (Russian Revolution) was unplaced at the venue to round out our selections.
