Magic Millions has opened entries for its iconic National Sale over two weeks in May and June, encouraging vendors to enjoy the Gold Coast experience and embrace the opportunities to sell their weanlings, yearlings, race fillies, broodmares and racehorses. Set to run at their Gold Coast complex beginning on Sunday, May 25, entries for the sale will close on March 21.
“The Gold Coast National Sale is the most successful breeding stock sale in the Southern Hemisphere and we are proud to announce that entries are open for weanlings, race fillies, broodmares and yearlings for 2025,” Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said in a press release.
“Each and every year the sale confirms its status as one of the world’s most important with buyers coming from all corners of the globe to compete for quality thoroughbreds across all sections of the auction and all levels of the market.”
Weanlings to sell over two days
The weanling portion of the sale will be on Sunday, May 25 and Monday, May 26, with high hopes held after last year saw a top price of $800,000 for the I Am Invincible filly from Single Blonde (Not A Single Doubt). The sale had 65 lots sell for six figures with an average of $76,600.

With the first crops by Group 1 winners Anamoe, Artorius, Daumier, HItotsu, In The Congo, Jacquinot, Paulele, State Of Rest (Ire), and Stronger all due at the weanling sales, vendors can use this sale to showcase examples of their young stallions.
Records smashed at last year’s broodmare sale
With a record top price of $6.6 million for Imperatriz (I Am Invincible) at last year’s Magic Millions Broodmare Sale, vendors of high-quality race mares and well-pedigreed broodmares should note that the race fillies session in 2024 enjoyed a 20 per cent growth in aggregate with $52.4 million worth of stock sold.

There were fifteen lots who made seven figures in this sale last year, with a sale average of $205,000. The broodmare section of the sale will run from May 27 to May 29.
“The Gold Coast National has been where so many Group 1 stories have begun. From future elite winning weanlings to mares carrying subsequent champions or yearlings who were future Golden Slipper or Derby winners!”

Scheduled for June 3 and June 4, the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale boasts graduates 3-year-old Listed winner Domain Ace (NZ) (Swiss Ace), as well as Group 1 winner Campionessa (NZ) (Contributer {Ire}), and Yellow Brick (The Mission), Stretan Angel (Harry Angel {Ire}), Cognito (So You Think {NZ}), Ace Of Diamonds (NZ) (Swiss Ace), Lim’s Bighorn (Better Than Ready), A Lot More Love (Sebring), Economics (Capitalist), and Zoukerino (Snitzel), while the 2024 sale has already produced three juvenile winners.
