8. Redistribute prize money across races, or happy as is?
Definitely need to focus on maiden races and restricted races. If a big pool win these races and it would encourage reinvestment, only a small pool win the big pop up million dollar races, it isn't healthy for the industry.
9. Tariff on imported horses - great idea or misguided protectionism?
I don't agree with an import levy. It would be great if there was a focus on implementing 1600m plus juvenile races like Europe. This would encourage more emphasis on breeding to stout lines. There will always be a place for juvenile speed in Australia that won't disappear.
10. Your best mate in the business?
Wayne Larsen. My best mate for 25 years plus, owner of Te Runga Farm in New Zealand, and a stud vet.
