G3 Standish H., $250,000, 1200m
Halvorsen (Magnus) won this race two years ago and returns for another crack and he does so love the Flemington straight. As does the topweight The Astrologist (Zoustar) who won the G3 Aurie's Star over the same journey in the spring.
Talented imported mare Turaath (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) is another with a good Flemington record though over a little more ground. She has jumped out well and is capable of pulling out a run fresh.
Former Queenslander Deep Image (Testa Rossa) has also trialled well and is another who can perform well first-up. Mileva (Headwater) has her runs slightly spaced but has been good winning two of her last three.
Also racing in good heart are Outlaws Revenge (Reward For Effort), Rock Prophet (Moshe) and the lightly raced and promising gallopers It'sourtime (Time For War) and Capriccio (I Am Invincible).
Ascot: Listed Miss Andretti S., $125,000, 1100m
Clairvoyance (Nostradamus) resumes off a good trial performance and is an exciting type who has been beaten only once in six starts. This is her first crack at stakes class but so impressive she has been that she has opened up favourite.
Iseered Iseered (Safeguard) has been freshened since taking on the state's best sprinters in the G1 Winterbottom S., a race in which he had little luck. His record of three wins from four starts at the track reads well.
Miss Conteki (Eurozone) was explosive charging home to take out the Listed Summer Scorcher and is a big chance for the double. Floyd (Not A Single Doubt) was not too far away when resuming in that same race and he boasts very good second-up form. Gemma's Son (Snippetson) comes through the same race in which he was caught wide from a tricky gate - this time he jumps from the inside gate. Long Beach (I Am Invincible) endured a similarly tough run but has another tricky draw to contend with.
Hot Zed (Red Hot Choice) is another attempting a black-type double having been tough on pace in the Listed Carbine Club.
